  • might be worth freezing a batch of filling and use as required- the bread would not be at its best, when thawed (with something inside) ..?

I went through an organised phase of freezing the kids sandwiches. I found that if you made a dryish tuna mayo by squeezing the tuna over a seive and mixing with a little mayo, then it was fine when defrosted. I froze grated cheese or peanut butter sandwiches as well, and they came out alright.

I make all my sarnies on a Sunday and freeze them for the week. The fillings are usually whatever meat it was for Sunday dinner/cheese or egg.

I've not had a problem with them as yet.,

I'll await the results (preferably with what does / doesn't work).

This interests me too, as it will keep the sandwiches cool (at least for the first part of the day) for those times when there's no fridge to put my lunch in :)
