Afternoon all
Showers here today but I managed to get a load of washing dry in between. I was just going to type that I want to cut the grass but I notice it's raining again.
Dusty DH is due to go to Fairford tomorrow so we'll be checking the website at 4pm to see if it's on. Unless you've got tickets for tomorrow or the dearer tickets that were for either day then I'm afraid you've missed out. Normally you can buy a ticket which is valid for either day but they seem to have changed the rules... It must be bad up there, the ground isn't that bad here and we're only about 35 miles away I think.
Anyway, as he's due to be out tomorrow I did a roast for dinner today and also made a pan of stew which I can have tomorrow and he can just do his own when he gets in because I have no idea what time that will be and I won't want to start cooking at some random timeI always think stew tastes better the next day, that's why I made it this morning.
Not much else going on. We've got some programmes taped to catch up on. Oh, and he put up a new bathroom light because the shade broke on the old one. It only happened a week ago! Must be a record0 -

HI
just back from a 4 hour trek showing our student around the old part of the town and then back through the town centre. DD was difficult at times as everything had to be done her way and when she wanted it and I really dont want to have to trek out again tonight to go with her to see the concert. I texted OH to ask him if he'd take her and got a sarcastic message back, you know the type 'well if you wont take her of course I will' so I just know it'll cause an argument when he gets in from work. Ok I know he'll have just done a 12 hour shift and has another to do tomorrow but it's always me that has to take her everywhere. Sorry this is turning into a rant but I work FT cook meals from scratch everyday, bake my own cakes etc and still have to find time to shop and clean  oh and I do all the decorating while he does the allotment, a lot of net surfing and takes time out to go off on his motorbike over the Alps for a week.
Rant over must go and get tea on the go as needs 2 hours to cookMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -

Well done TAG and crafty scholar. TAG i keep noticing a food focus log on your list. What is that? Sounds interesting.
suzi hope your DH is a bit better. Don't stress about housework. There is loads crossed off there.
Squishy hugs to all of you today.
Michelle, x0 -
Raining again here so washing back in.
I had finally set to work on tidying the long border aswell.
Forgot to tell you that the gardener next door cut the top of the hedge between us and next door - they have always wanted it high so we let them do the top to the height they want. well the new gardener has cut half way across the top - how petty is that? Our electric cutters started smoking and getting hot a couple of weeks ago so we need new ones.
Polly - thanks for the info - they have tickets for both days as they were due to be going Friday and staying over 2 nights. Last time we checked the web it implied that it might be on.
Pooh cool, I didn't know you lived on the side of a mountain, how far north are you? I got 800g from my one and only bush so not bad. I am trying the cordial recipe whereby I stand them for 3 days and then heat, add sugar and bottle so it will be interesting if nothing else.
Rain has stopped here so just need to see if the ground starts to dry out a bit and then I may get to pop back out.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

We are about 1500 ft (in Cumbria not strictly a mountain but quite high)I think so quite high and windswept. We have about 3 huge bushes and get loads of berries if the weather is good enough to get out there. I have made cordial and couli in the past but I found a strainer bag and stand in a builders merchants of all places for £2 last Christmas so I grabbed it and can't wait to give blackcurrant jelly a try. I make our own yogurt so the blackcurrants are great with that, much cheaper than those corner things.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Right dinner on the go, first time trying Lancashire hot pot in the Remoska, will be interesting as normally it should take over 2 - 2 1/2 hours but running out of time to cook it that long and get out again.
After finally catching up on the thread (it took 2 hours  ) just wanted to say to debbiemc, firepoppy and winniepooh - a warm welcome and dont worry if you manage a couple of good days then burn out cos thats what I'm still doing a year later
beanyharrison - hope everything is going well after your show and that little one has turned. My laddo was born 5 hours after the show 12 days early!!
soappie - glad kidney pain is better, happy birthday for tomorrow and as for ex
shell - why not get the children to sit on the booster seats on the plane, they'll be able to see whats going on better and you wont have to pay for their carriage. You're also allowed to feel exhausted, you have a lot going on and you are grieveing and well done on tackling Peterborough AND the multistorey. I always park in Queensgate but have to be sooo careful as my car is long and has low skirts on. OH has already asked me how they got bashed - but I honestly dont know
GnB - sounds like your little one is recovering really well. I am amazed that they send people home so quickly after major surgery these days. A friend of mine who has an extra vertebrae in his back went in at 8am to have a dics removed and was back home at 2pm with a 6" scar down his back.
AnW's mum - well done to your kids for their reports. They are doing so well after what you have all been through.
Lilme - your boys will love the surprise visit to their old friends, its so easy to lose touch when you move. Pants about the school closure, we'll prob find out onm Wednesday morning when we take DD in :rotfl:
ElectraKing - Hugs for your littleone headbutting - dont have any ideas sorry. For recipes I use easycook magazine its brilliant and loads of recipes from scratch on the table in 30 mins. I also cheat when baking. Sometimes I use Mr T value mix but add 2 eggs whisked first and 2 oz soft butter and add either chocolate or coffee flavouring and it makes fab sponges. Top with Betty Crocker ready mixed icing (I know but they were on a bogof and it was cheaper than buying the butter and icing sugar!) I made square ones and we ended up with 16 choc and 16 coffee squares (from 3 packets) and they were all gone in 48 hours
Nicki - I know how you feel about the banks. When I was in a muddle (pre MSE) I went to them and asked for help and they were pigs. Now my loan is paid off, OD down and savings in my account suddenly they want to do an account review to see if they can help me. I laughed and asked them if they'd ever heard of MSE and told them they could get stuffed. And sorry had to laugh at the fake tan - been there done that and only use St Tropez now as you can see where you've been :rotfl:
Pigpen - Hugs for WIL troubles, been there done that - mine didnt send any kind of card to DD in 7 years before she died and it was her only son's, only child. No birth congrats, birthdays or Christmas. He always got a card but me and DD never got a mention. Sounds like your hubby needs antibiotics too.
Hex2 - Hope your boys have got over the hammer ordeal
Michelle - massive hugs for you, just do what you feel you have to, not what you feel you need to. Classy dress too.
Rach - nice to see you popping in. Hope commute improves.
MrsV - Sending house selling vibes. Hope the viewings went well.
jjef - hope you get boiler sorted. Know how you feel, when we moved in our house we had it replaced 18 months after and found the flue wasnt connected up at all and it was in the kitchen!!!
germish - be proud of your lad - it was nice of the teacher to take the time to say
Tag - my dog is always nicking choccy she can find and has never suffered yet.
Suzi - hope OH is ok and improving.
Dusty - I think I have about 6 or 7 kilos of blackcurrants in the freezer without this years
Well a long post I know but :grouphug: and :hello: to everyone else I havent mentioned.
Happy flying - now off to the lotty to water the tomatoes.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0
