    Evening All.

I have just been tackling mount ironmore. I think I will do some trousers for work tomorrow and call it a do for tonight.

I still need to get the washing off the line and make the kids pack-ups.

I have decided that unless DS1's elbow gets any worse overnight I will send him to school in the morning. I will have to call in at lunchtime and give him a dose of his antbiotics.

The rhubarb and ginger jam has turned out well, so a sweet and to a bit of a sour day. I have a little dish of it in front of me now which I keep "sampling":D

Have some gooseberries ripe in garden, bit of a subjective question but is gooseberry jam nice?

I haven't had gooseberry jam for many years. My nan used to make it along with damson jam.

I made this gooseberry sauce to go with some pork loin chops last week and it was very pleasant:

Just read the recipe and it sounds yummy - did you try freezing it too?

    Evening folks

Tried to relax a bit today and let DH take some of the slack. I haven't been lazy, just very selective in doing what i have wanted to do, and i think DH felt guilty and did some stuff in the house, but also spent time with ds1 as he wanted to do that. The weekend has felt dead short this time. I don't know where the time goes.

    Done by me:
    • ds2 up and dressed
    • washed a load of towels
    • stuck bleach down loo
    • washed up breakie/lunch dishes
    • put food shopping away
    • made a fruit loaf in BM
    • made fruit smoothies
    • made a chocolate cake, got DS1 to help me decorate it
    • played with the boys
    • bathed ds2
    • worked out some meals for next week
    • brought washing in - folded it and put away
    • washed my hair
    • cut tags off some of the new clothes ds2 has in 3-6 month size, loaded them into the WM to wash next
    • emptied the bathroom bin
    done by DH:
    • ds1 up and dressed
    • made breakie for us all
    • went food shopping with ds1
    • made bacon sarnies for lunch
    • washed a load of his work clothes
    • hung them out
    • played outside with ds1
    • reheated chillie i made - put waffles and garlic bread in to go with it for tea
    • fed cats
    • bathed ds1
    • washed up after dinner
    • put ds1 to bed
    • done some worky stuff he wanted to do
so not overly productive, but i think both of us needed to be a bit more chilled. DH was quite pleased with himself too as he managed to get some of the Morrisons 50p burgers and sausages, and chicken breasts cheaper. Freezer is brimming again, which is why we had the smoothies.

lil-me big hugs - i know you would never leave the boys for the whole day, so you will have to try and grab a short 'me' slot somewhere so you feel less taken for granted. I hope the pressure eases for you when the boys are off. I'll keep my fingers crossed for nice weather so ds2 will play out for you.

soappie glad to hear your birthday has gone well. Happy birthday.

kaz :rotfl: happy to see you are enjoying yourself as that is what life is for.

Thanks everyone, think I just needed to let off a little steam!!
juliejim, he works 3 nights a week usually, that's my point, he worked 22 hours last week and did nothing else apart from play with his toys. I just hate having to do everything then it all suffers, I get down, depressed and it's hard pulling myself back up!
kaz unfortunately childcare is my main issue, noone but me to have the boys on a weekend and DS1 doesn't do parties...if only I could
michelle, you know me too well, I am thinking about booking some reflexology sessions in in September if I can in the middle of studying for my exams and me and a friend (Matthew's Mam) are trying to book a spa day for our 30ths but probably won't happen until September, it's 9-6 so he'll have to have them for a short time of course.

Thanks for just listening, I know I can be a right moaning murtle sometimes, but noone else to really moan to and if I didn't I think I'd spend 24/7 in tears. I've sort of lost the will to live at the mo, seems silly but that's how it feels, I don't want to do anything, I am wondering if that's why I feel tired.

I keep thinking I should back out of the meeting tomorrow, but it's something that is really important to me (trying to help improve services for disabled children in our area) lunch is provided and I get to meet up with some lovely people aswell as some people who it comes in handy to know (very high up in service provisions, actually probably the highest), so I am going, hence still here studying as I won't have tomorrow to do it.

Right, new thread time. Oh and I have done half of my assignment now :D even resisted watching one of my fave films 'Top Gun' to get it done. (No I prefer the planes to Tom Cruise - bit of a plane/helicopter fan :D )
One day I might be more organised...........
