I currently have an orange contract from e2save. I'm only three months into the contract but 0800 numbers are as you say soon to be charged.
Trouble is I've already recieved £130 in cashback from e2save and am about to request yet more cashback.
My worry is that e2save will try and claw this money back once I've terminated the contract. I believe there is something in the e2save contract that states they can claw money back if the contract ceases within the first six months.
Could anyone reassure me otherwise or simply clarify the above a little? The pricing of a phone (and any associated offers inc. cashback/line rental) is dependent on a specific price plan being selected. If you subsequently change this price plan within the periods defined below then the purchase price variance for the phone, based on the price plan you have actually changed to, will be charged to your credit/debit card.
Periods during which "purchase price variance change of price plan charge" will apply:
T-Mobile 11 Months
Vodafone 6 Months
O2 6 Months
Orange 6 Months
3 6 Months
BT Mobile 6 Months
Virgin Mobile Duration of contract
In addition, any cashback/line rental offers will be reclaimed if these are not applicable to the price plan you have changed to. We therefore strongly advise that you do not change your price plan within the specified periods.
It refers to change of price plan. I assume then that cancelling the contract doesn't count as a change of price plan. Okay that seems obvious but I still feel it needs clarifying as I for one don't want to get a shock.0 -
just been on the phone with orange for half hour. After being transferred through various departments, they finally agreed that i can use my phone to dial the 0800 and 0500 numbers until my contract ends in march 2006.
I am definitely going to move to 02 or voda after that. I am fed up with orange and how they are advertise about being the best providers and then sneekily up their charges.0 -

There is another post running at the moment on Orange's poor customer service, might be an idea to tell your story there. One of the MSE was even going to print all the threads off and take them to Orange and stuff them in a managers face - Cool eh!!!0 -

I wouldn't normally quote email addresses but if Orange CS is really that bad it's time the CEO sorted it out.
Email the CEO and ask for the freephone bundle, his details are Sanjiv Ahuja sanjiv.ahuja@orange.co.uk alternatively the general address for the CEO's office is executive.office@orange.co.ukBefore you buy Google Nest or British Gas Hive check out ESPproMon the Android and iOS Smartphone app that helps you build the same system from just £30.0 -
I'm going to try give them a ring tommorrow and see what happens. I do have 5 contracts with them! But from the looks of things it won't be easy!0

Well I don't know about yo guys but I'm just simply going to write them a letter sent by recorded post demanding my contract be terminated due to breach of contract.
If they choose to ignore my letter and pass me onto credit control once I've cancelled the direct debit. Well, if they do that I'm happy for them to take me to court. I understand it would look bad on my credit record but if that's what's required to end my contract I will do it.0 -
Briefly what have they increased, apart from the charge for 0800 numbers ?0
-
They are going to charge 10p a minute for calls to Freephone numbers which were previously free.0

I have talk to them last week, and was told that according to section 4.3 of their terms & conditions, there is no way to get out of their contract before the 12months is up... mmh (need to check the T&C again!).
On the other hand, I thought they have to inform their customers in writing of any changes to the T&C's. I just had my bill (billing date 14th of the month) and there is nothing other than the usual bill inside.
Should I complain or just accept that they will not be able to pass on the charges for calling 0800/0500/0808 numbers, as they have not informed me of the changes..?! huh?!0
