I don't think we have to pay any more, it is just a holding bay before they get shipped to the avns ready for distribution.0

I imagine alot of the dresses that are bought in the UK from bridal shops are made in China/ HK/ India.
Certainly most of our other clothes are produced there and not in the UK or Europe.0 -

If that was what he/she meant that is what the post should have said.
I know that the majority of our clothing as made abroad and we pay inflated prices to a number of middle men who have probably negotiated a discount on what I paid. The money I saved will be going behind the bar at our reception to benefit my guests rather than into the pocket of someone I don't know.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

well clothes in asda and primark are made in third world countries so why not the likes of china for something as important as a wedding dress!
Im glad you ladies are getting your dresses i was hoping not to hear another internet nightmare!

She just wanted to scare you all into panicking & going to your nearest bridal shop.....paddingtondoo wrote: »...... The money I saved will be going behind the bar at our reception to benefit my guests rather than into the pocket of someone I don't know.
At the end of the day, it is a bride's decision how to spend her money - and where. Most of us are on here because we want to save money, not spend it unnecessarily.
Just because someone has possibly suffered from the increase in internet bridal shopping, doesn't mean they have the right to come & make untrue statements about a well-known internet supplier and upset those who have placed orders.
It appears that you internet brides have chased her away with a flea in her ear anyway!0 -

I hear you! My guests having a great time is far more important than how 'original' and expensive my dress is!
Do those snooty brial sales people deserve our cash? Or the lovely ladies in China who make everyone look fabulous?
That said, I am popping into a bridal shop for the first time on Saturday to 'experiment'.0 -

Go and try on as many as possible. I went in with one idea and bought something completely different. Make sure you try on the one that you think looks dreadful on the hanger
I also found that there wasn't that much choice in white and ivory really doesn't suit me.
If you're going on a Saturday give them a ring and make an appointment as they are more likely to be busy.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended
