Landy Bridal

Forgot to mention that HMC&E are now scrutinising all packages sent to the UK from Landy Bridal and their subsidiaries. It appears that they have been falsely declaring the contents to avoid duty.
If you do order from L.B. then you will possibly find that you will have to pay import duty and any additional fines levied by customs. All in all, that means your average £200 dress will set you back £600 to get hold of it!
Wow, you really are a jack of all trade aren't you!!....Good job the dresses dont come from landy bridal!
You seem to have it in for us brides, maybe you were stood up at the alter with your landy dress on?!!:p:pMrs Storeyxx

Nah, it was worse than that! She was wearing a full-priced original   -
Though how she found the time for a relationship in between all of her official scaremongering duties I just don't know.

Slept like a log til about 11am thanks!
Meanwhile, when all your dresses arrive in high quality recycled bri-nylon, which you had to pay duty on at customs, and then need to take to the local seamstress because they are off-the-peg net curtains, I'm sure you'll all be glad you bought from a factory that sponsors state brutality.
And yes, I'm an expert in everything, lol.0 -
My daughter is getting married next year , I've just looked at the web site , prices look good , but surely you take a risk in getting the right fit or the quality?0

Now I shall stick my six penn'orth in now. If people choose to buy fake wedding dresses from China that is up to them but I do think that Fat Tulip is making a valid point.
Some of the comments made towards Fat Tulip have been vicious and uncalled for. People are entitled to their opinion and to give advice, if you don't want to listen then that's ok but there is no need to denigrate someone from Trading Standards who highlights a possible problem with an internet supplier.
I think you should all be ashamed of yourselves.0 -

Of course you take a risk but you do that getting out of bed.
My dress is absolutely beautiful and is nothing like an off the peg net curtain.
I'm a little concerned that someone who works for trading standards would approach this matter in such a way though it doesn't seem to be very professional.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I beg to differ. Fat Tulip came onto this board and did not tell us which Trading Standards in the country she/he works for.
Yes, I bought a dress from China, but if I'd ordered from a UK dealer, she'd have got her supplies from the manufacturer, who is probably based in China or one of the other countries which supplies cheap labour. It would have been made to a standard size and when it arrived in this country needed alterations. In effect the dress would have been made twice.
With regards to China's governments humanity record towards it's people, yes I do object to people being treated as slaves. However, THAT was not what Fat Tulip came on about. He/She was not on here to moan & garner support for amnesty international, they came on solely to cause ripples.
How many manufacturers/designers are actually UK based? Where is the fabric made? The threads? The sewing machines that are used to manufacture clothing? I could go on...
So, no, in answer to your statement, I do NOT feel ashamed of myself.
