I am neither encouraging nor discouraging anybody to do anything. Having spent several hours of the last week trying to reassure people where there is very little reassurance to give, I thought I would be pre-emptive.

A very good suggestion, and the most useful part of your post, since it is in the spirit of my original information. As for E-Bay and it's conflict resolution, have you ever tried getting money back for anything you were unhappy with? Around 40% of my work to date concerns upset online buyers and certain well known sites!

Hi, Regarding you working for trading standards, If they have no power over foreign sellers, Then the fact that you work for them really has no relevance.......
By trying to help, you are offering no hard information, The only bridal store that seems to be in trouble financially is one here in the UK!....Landy, as we have all established, is based in CHINA!
Usually when people have a low post count and are trying to "help" people it means they are a troll after a personal gain of some sort, If my posts are pointless heckles, then I suggest you grow a skin and stop taking things so personally- After all this is a PUBLIC forum, leaving me with every right to have my say..
Regarding Ebay and it's conflict resolution policy, I have three words for you...Pay pal claim!...Paypal WILL refund 100 percent of any justified claim, As you should maybe be aware of, working for Trading Standards and all!


To all:...Regarding Landy, No one has actually got any concrete proof, what happened to innocent until proven guilty?!! I am myself waiting for a two b/m's dresses from Landy and have emailed her today. I will let everyone know what the outcome of the email is as soon as I get a reply.....Untill everyone has been in touch with Landy/ASAPBAY I wouldn't stress to much.

I've tried searching on news pages etc about designers claiming against Landy Bridal & haven't found anything.

However, I thought the general consensus was that in order to prevent Landy infringing on copyright the dresses were not be identical?

I intend giving them a call later to put my mind at ease/ add to my panic whichever is appropriate

Thanks Nannis for your help in calming me down. I do hope that Fat Tulip has got the wrong end of the stick and am trying to hold my panic at bay for another 4 or so hours!

I have got an email from landy on saturday saying my dress has been posted and she has given me a tracking number which says it has left china and is enroute to shanghai....
OH MY GOD PLEASE TELL ME THAT THIS MEANS MY DRESS IS ON ITS WAY

Wedding is in 9 weeks

AM VERY VERY Worried

it looks like your dress is on its way then because if she was going bust she could of just gave you a fake tracking number but if you have checked on it then it should be coming for you Fingers crossed

Mine was posted at the end of last week and is in Shanghai too. I am sure that they are on their way to us, so try not to worry too much. I know that is easy for me to say as my wedding isn't till next year and yours is soon, but I cannot see why they would have gone to the bother of posting the dresses if they were going bust.

I agree DizzyT, Im sure noone would be getting tracking numbers, emails etc if Landy was going bust....

Princess...Mine left Shanghai, then took a few days to reach UK....Then I went into a mad panic because it was "awaiting customs charging", I stressed and stressed before finally calling parcel force who said it was in the next container to be checked :cool:
It cleared customs an hour later and was with me the very next day

Celticsprite...Have you had a tracking number yet?? Landy didnt send mine until I sent an email asking how the dress was coming along
I tried to call you yesterday afternoon to offer some reassurance, Im sure it is all fine, but will come back and let you know as soon as Landy replies to me mail.

Here is the reply I have just had from Landys. I have been in contact all the time with a lady called Grace. I wrote to her this morning to ask if the rumours were true. This is her reply! :T

Sorry to hear that ,but you know ,we have many rivals ,so maybe that is normal .
Now ,I just hope that you can get the dress earlier ,and I would like to give you some discount when you order your bridesmaid dresses from me ,thanks in advance.

Has gone into receivership after a collective of wedding dress designers and companies took her to court. She has been fined the UK equivalent of over £200,000!!! If you have anything on order which you have paid any money for you need to get in contact AS SOON AS POSSIBLE or you will be way down the list of creditors.

1. How would you know how much she has been fined for? Surely that would take a good while for the courts to decide?

2. How come she is still trading? Her website is still up and running.
