I just want everyone to be aware that Landy Bridal;

Has gone into receivership after a collective of wedding dress designers and companies took her to court. She has been fined the UK equivalent of over £200,000!!! If you have anything on order which you have paid any money for you need to get in contact AS SOON AS POSSIBLE or you will be way down the list of creditors.

It looks like the web site has gone down already. I got her telephone number from Google if anybody needs it. Remember that as she is in China the costs will be expensive.

Are these the same as Arvella Bridal shop? I just wondered because there is a big article in the Sunday Express today about this shop going bust and yet they were still advertising on their website yesterday.

I can reproduce the article if anyone wants (it will help me boost my typing speed).

Ah nightmare am guessing thats why I couldn't get on yesterday! Do you think it'll still be safe going through milly bridal? Wonder if paying by credit card will make any difference, typical, found my perfect dress the other day lol. Hope everyones dresses are still sent to them though

I have used a separate topic to post the article from today's Sunday Express. If Landy bridal is the same as Arvella then I think you would be best looking for a dress elsewhere.

Have just read Horace-does sound very similar the 200k etc, however she lives in hants, landys in china, maybe she sources the dresses from there?
Milly bridal is different but I think she works in pretty much the same way so unsure what to do

Sugared - have you seen your dress anywhere other than Milly's Bridal, if so then personally I would buy it from a different shop. I am not saying that Milly's is dodgy but you just don't know.

where did you get your info from? I can't find anything about it? (Though I'm having a major panic as my dress is from there and I'm needing it for 2 weeks time)

I've also tried the phone number you've given, but this is coming up as a "you have dialled an incorrect number"

I work for Trading Standards and we have received lots of calls all over the country this week from brides who have not received their dresses.

The really sad thing is that we have no power to confront overseas internet sellers.

People need to try using the email address they received the order confirmation from.

I see no concrete information that Landy herself is in receivership....She has listed on ebay yesterday,And knowing ebay and their strict rules, Im sure if they had complaints they would have removed her from ebay!, I have sent an email to the address I have for her, it has sent, no bounces....
Maybe she has stopped the website in favour of ebay??

I wasnt aware that China had a trading standards, hence why you can buy a copy of anything...I really dont think this is something to stress people out over, Especially when you have only posted 3 times...Maybe you have something to gain by encouraging brides not to buy from China...Remind me again which bridal shop you work for???
