Take someone with you who is - maybe their enthusiasm will rub off. I went to a small shop who gave us the run of the bridal section, roped it off and left us to get on with it

A couple of my friends bought dresses from the shop I'm going to, so I'm sure it'll be lovely.

I'm taking my Mum, who I suspect is secretly excited even if I'm filled with dread.

I wasn't really looking forward to trying dresses on either but the women in 2 of the first shops I went into were so nice... They really made me feel welcome and I even got put in a size 16 dress... (I haven't been in one of those for about 10 years!) It didn't do up obviously... But it gave me an idea of how it would look...

Landy has delivered an exceptional dress, it got here on friday via parcelforce Exactly as designed, in the smallest of packages too!!

When i opened it up the fabric just kept on flowing..Its lovely
I sort of tried it on but need a helping hand from my chief bridesmaid tomorrow just to do, the doing up thing....

I am really really happy with it.
It doesnt look cheap or nasty and has been finished beautifully so a big shout out to paddingtondoo who gave me a bit of inspiration and a good kick up the bum to order it from landy...

So 2 words to fat tulip......

And i bet you can all think what they are ha ha ha

Am so glad you're pleased with your dress - fortunately I didn't know I had kicked you up the bum to order it or I would have spent the last few weeks worrying :rotfl:

I feel dirty. I went to try on dresses and found one I really loved, and it's way more expensive than I would like. But now I don't know if I can bring myself to order from China. I really liked it.

I hate myself... :doh:

Can you cut back somewhere else to fund it? Can you order it from one of the American sites and save a bit that way? Can you find an original on eBay or somewhere.

If you really loved the original you might be a tad disappointed with a copy from China it depends on how much you are prepared to compromise and if you can actually afford to shell out the extra cash.

I take it we're talking quite a large difference here
