Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 6th july. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
now have 2 sick boys here, lo got the full blown cold and now he has passed it onto ds1! so he is still in bed, told him to go back to sleep!
they were meant to be going out with thier aunt today, but will see how they are later

Morning Kyle and all to follow, hope your boys feel better asap and (((hugs))) to you and Twink for the anniversary.
Bit overcast here at the moment, hoping it wont rain as its DS' school fete today. Am up early so can get some housework and ironing done before we go over there. This afternoon we are out for an indian buffet and seeing Narnia.
Didnt get much done yesterday because of the visit to the dentist. DD has never had to have any treatment before and was reluctant to say the least, because she was playing up so much they gave her an extra dose of the sedative so it was a long time before she woke up properly.
Have a great sunday and (((hugs))) to anyone who needs one.

Good morning kyle and everyone who follows.
((HUGS)) to kyle and twink xxx Hope the boys will be feeling better soon kyle x
:hello: Taplady and mrs mix xx
Essedx girl - hope DDs mouth is ok today and the weather stays ok for the fete!!
Had a lovely day with DS yesterday, hes very pleased with his new Arsenal shirt, and we both really enjoyed the film Hancock - we took a packed lunch with us, although i did buy him a drink in the cinema, cost me over £6 for a bottle of water and a fanta ice drink - no wonder people sneak in their own food!!! The ticket for DS was £5.05, luckily i had my free ticket, but again, its no wonder that so many people illegally download/buy pirate films with that sort of price!
DD had a lovely time as well in Truro, came home with cakes and sweets she had made for us, she had also been doing 'glass art' and swimming so she def had a full day! Thank you to everyone who wished us a lovely day yesterday, it worked!!!
The weather here is horrible, yesterday was raining and gales, all my tomato plants were blown over, i picked them back up, but they were soon back on the floor, so will have to go and see how damaged they are later, its still tipping down here, but at least it looks like the wind has dropped.
Other plans today, well, we all have to pop back into Plymouth to have our eyes tested, so Sunday lunch (roast chicken) will now be Sunday dinner and i will do sandwiches or something at lunchtime instead. Also have to get DDs suitcase packed. She is going to a place calle Heatree for the week - its a Christian activity center on Dartmoor the school use every year for a year 5 residencial visit - they go Monday, come back Friday. It will be the longest time DD has ever been away (has only dont 1 night before) and we are all very nervous about it - she wont even stay at her dads house, so how she will be here im not sure. Anyway, we are encouraging her to go, and at the moment she is very excited about it. Im going to be a parent contact, so the teacher will ring me every evening to let me know whats been happening, and any parent who wants to know, can then ring me to see how they are getting on. This way, he can keep me informed as the how DD is getting on, and if she needs to speak to me, she can. We are hoping that she wont need to tho, and i have said that any peoblems and i will go and collect her. Fingers crossed she has a lovely time and stays.
OK, off to get my clicks done - my 2 are still asleep, so im enjoyig my cuppa in peace, but not sure how long for tho!
I hope everyone has a lovely day, ((HUGS)) and :hello: to anyone who wants/needs one xxx
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -

Twink and Kyle - thinking of you both today. Hope the boys feel better soon Kyle - somehow not being well in summer feels even worse!
Essex Girl - NW Essex was lovely an hour ago,but the clouds are rolling in now. Hope SE Essex fine for you!
Catowen - hope your daughter has a great time and that you won't spend the next five days worrying about her!
Me, well the dreaded Ofst*d is done and dusted - and as I retire at Christmas that's my last visit! Hurray! yesterday was incredibly busy as it's carnival week here. Despite a gloomy start the weather was glorious by the time the procession began. We had a big concert in the church last evening, so rehearsals in the afternoon and a party afterwards. Why didn't I sleep better then - I'm certainly tired enough!
Need to change the bedding today and catch up generally after church.
VickyA, hope your inspection visit goes smoothly.
Love and ((HUGS)) to all who need one.Resolution:

Morning all
Hugs to kyle and twink and anyone else who needs one......
A rainy grey looking morning down here - have had to wake up early because months after ordering, dwell are actually delivering the shelves for my study today - between 8.00  and 1.00. After they arrive and are contructed, there will be no more excuses for my filing!!
good news is that I found my ring (in the car). bad news is that after all that has happened and the odds being stacked against this relationship (oh is foreign and ill) i think that however hard it's going to be i might have to retire gracefully from it. not sure i have the strength for this right now, but i think it might be the only way. depite his mental health seemingly improving, it still seems like a very big risk at the moment. am very sad.
so plans for today - construct flat pack, out to lunch for my sister's birthday, tennis final and my daily fix of men in lycra - tour de france.
hope the sun is shining somewhere (wimbledon would be good - if they don't play it today i won't see it!!) and that everyone is feeling fine!

Morning,
Kyle/Twink ((hugs)). The time does go, it will be 7 years this Sept since I lost my dad but it doesn't feel that long.
Essexgirl, when my oldest DD had sedation at the dentist they said she cried all the way throughHowever on the drive home she was very chirpy & asking if she could have a kebab!!!! lol..
Catowen, if only the cinemas realised that if they lowered the prices of the food/drink people might be more likely to buy it.... And hope your DD enjoys her break, mine all do/have done things like that & loved it.
Beemuzed, glad your Ofsted is over & done
Poppy, it can't be an easy decision but it has to be what is best for you. Don't damage your mental health too - look after you.
(((((hugs)))))) to all those needing them too, I won't name names because I'll forget some & that won't be intentional - but for all those having troubled times, thoughts are with you.
TNG :kisses2:
Today I will be clearing out my room ready to have it carpeted tomorrow morningWill also have the builder back here climbing over the carpet fitter while he tries to fix leak under new bath (pipes from tap). I shall be trying to remain serene despite everything in my house seemingly doing its best to fall apart..... May get the BM going to make some herby granary dough - problem is I then eat it all & I really need to shift some weight.
Have a good day all. Catch up later.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)0 -
Morning folks
It is raining here, so greenhouse assembley has been put off till it stops.
I have another 2 mins here I allowed my self 1/2 hour before I go and do the ironing, but somehow reading the threads seems more appealing than the ironing.
Grand Prix today, so hopefully the Red Arrows will pop by my gardne and say hello!!!

:hello:
Mornin
(((((((((HUGS))))))))) to all who need them today
kyle hope your 2 sick boys feel better soon,
Essex-girl Hope you DD has got over her ordeal at the dentist, poor girl, I think the first experience of treatment comes as a bit of a shock to them does`nt it?
I am sure she will love it catowen its a big adventure for them the first time away with friends. What a good idea about parent contact, when my 2 DS`s were young (many moons ago) and were away from home with scouts/cubs/school holidays, the only contact we had was if they thought to ring us, which was`nt often, O no they had a better use for their pocket money;)
poppyoscar good news about the ring, I think you are wise to take a couple of steps back though, you know the old saying....If in doubt don`t.....you could be saving yourself a lot of heartache in the future.
Well its an awful day here the rain is persisting down, OH had planned to cut the hedge/bushes, no chance!!! and after he bought his new hedge trimmer yesterday  he is impatient to try it out....shame.....It might brighten up later same as yesterday though.
Have`nt anything much planned for today except the usual, lunch, tidying up stuff that did`nt get put away over the last few day`s, and just generally pottering about, think I might get the sewing machine out and do a few running repairs.
Back later
Anne

Morning all,
The weathers been a bit nicer today but rain is forecast for tomorrow. Went over to the new Spar at Macleay Island that has just opened. The prices are quite good. A new IGA (supermarket) is opening on the other island in a fortnight so I won't need to go the mainland and get groceries anymore. :T So much handier. OS came and had lunch with us. Later in the arv DGS & XDIL came to visit. We then went madarin picking.YS called last night and he's thinking of buying a house on the island in a few months for investment purposes. He plans to rent it out, but still work up in the mines.
Twink & Kyle <hugs> hope the day isn't too sad for you.
JackieO Glad you had a lovely holiday.
Well I better look what I"m having for tea.Wish DH cooked occassionally. Might suggest a mandarin.
Hope you all have a relaxing Sunday. Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
