  • I was only thinking about 20p or so for each one, with a discount for more than one so it sounds like they will go.

I'm just wondering how many would go but I guess that depends on how big the boot fair is. I could take an entire boot load of books, but I won't if other items are going to be better.

I haven't been to any for ages - do people just do book stalls?

i would take a mix of stuff, as boot sales are hit and miss, and you never know what is going to sell. it varies from one week to the next.

however, having had a discussion with alot of friends lately, we are of the opinion we will no longer buy from Traders, and only buy from genuine booters. if you turn up with only books, i would prob think you were a trader, and walk past your stall, as the whole point of booting to me is a platform for Joe Public to sell their junk, not traders to have a market stall on the cheap

    just mho

    Yes, do take books.

I am an avid book fan and tend to buy them for myself and my OH who tends to go through books at a rate of knots because he travels by train to work and back each day!

I sold all 200 books I took to a boot sale the other day. 50p each or 3 for a £1. worth taking them all. Recommend titles to potential buyers they usually appreciate it.

alternatively if you have room to store them why not check them out on Amazon or greenmetropolis first to see if any of them have any value.

I would if I had the time! We're talking at least 800 books here.

I tend to sell my paperbacks 25p each or 5 for £1. As people love a bargain & i just want rid of them. Never want to carry the books back home!!!
Hardbacks between 50p & £1 depending on what they are.
    Saying that i normally pay 50p per paperback & £1 - £2 a hardback when i wander round a bootsale.
  • I have a load of second hand books that I've read and really dont have space to keep. I'd quite like to sell them or swop them for something I havent read.

I looked on Ebay but it seems to be hit and miss whether books sell or not, and when they do they dont go for very much money to justify maybe having to relist some of them several times.

Do secondhand bookstores pay for stock over here? Is it worth the hassle? Aren't there some kind of online bookswop things I read about once? Should I just cut my losses and give them to a charity shop?

    Any ideas?
