  • Hi,

I have registered on here because I am absolutely disgusted with this company.

@Mapcr77, be prepared for the 'customer is always wrong' attitude from them.

I ordered some Alien perfume, when it finally arrived the Thierry Mugler circle number had been cut out. Anybody who has used Thierry Mugler products will know the circle number can but input into their website to verify authenticity.
I telephoned Chemist Direct and spoke to a girl who was very helpful and emailed the supplier to find out what was going on. When she got back to me with the response, she agreed I could sent the product back (which I did, recorded)
I telephoned 5 days later after i checked it had been delivered and I spoke to a VERY RUDE woman who said I should not have returned the item and that there was no way forward re a refund as It was my fault I no longer had the perfume (despite in the previous telephone call her colleague told me to return it) Chemist Direct wasn't at fault. I would have to go to the manufacturer for one (!!!??)
At this point I got very angry and said either I have a product with the circle number or a refund or I would leave negative reviews on websites everywhere. Her response 'go on then that's absolutely fine' (can you believe that a company would not mind being slated on very valuable review sites??)
I demanded she put the through to the manager, her reply '*sigh, i will put you through but she will say exactly the same as me'
the manager seemed very nice, but was quietly condescending in her responses. She advised she would go and look for the product to check it then call me back.
When she called me back, she said it is genuine, and not all Alien perfumes have a circle number (i am not sure about this myself as all of mine always have done, however this one had been physically cut out)
A refund was agreed and has been received. She said she knew it was frustrating when you're told one thing by one person and not another, however there was nothing wrong with the product.

In short I would NEVER recommend anybody using them, and as the woman on the phone said it was ok to leave bad reviews, that's exactly what I am going to do. I also have a good mind to see who the directors are and contact them

Has anyone returned a faulty product to Chemist Direct? I bought (expensive) perfume from them about a fortnight ago and when I opened it, it was fake. The bottle was full of either coloured water or something else other than perfume, as there was no scent and certainly not the expensive scent I had paid through the nose for.

Having finally got through to customer services on the third attempt they firstly told me that their supplier had assured them there was nothing wrong and that they had never had a complaint about the perfume before.

Then when I said that there was most definitely a problem and explained the problems of selling an item not as described, they said I could return the item (at my own expense!!) for a refund. However, they said that they would have to check the item first. The item is definitely faulty but having now read the many negative reviews of the website I am a bit concerned that if I return the item they may just refuse to refund anyway. Has anyone any experience of returning items to them? Or should I just report them directly to the perfume manufacturer/trading standards etc?

see my previous post, i had the same problem!!

I've used Chemist Direct a few times in the past without issue, so thought I would put in another order on Wednesday (22nd).

Order was shipped out same day via MyHermes.

On Thursday MyHermes failed to deliver, citing an address problem... looked at my order, I had given my work address with my home postcode :o. Called up CD and spoke to a helpful lady, she took the correct postcode and said she'd forward it on to the courier, which she must have done as my order has just arrived.

    Jobs a goodun.

I placed my order late on Wednesday evening 22nd May; I saw the mails about lots of Spam (!!!!!!) e-mail and also queries about is their credit cards server secure, so I paid by Paypal to reduce the risk.

I received to goods ordered on Friday before lunch, so less than 48 hours. :) :j
  • No problems for me too
I posted a prescription on Sat, had three emails to say yes you've paid, yes order being processed as we have your prescription and order dispatched.
Just received my order 14.00 Fri aft
  • I have used Chemist Direct and have not been disappointed with their service. The Company is legit, however I also use an online pharmacy called Better Chemist - purely for the fact that you are speaking to the Pharmacist straight away and they give great advice. Prices are pretty much the same, I think Better Chemist is a newer company and have also spoken directly to its owner.
  • I used them a few years back and apart from being very slow to despatch, I didn't have any problems. However, there are many better sites out there IMO. I have not ordered from them in a very long time.
  • I've used them many times over the past few years, and no problems at all with them! In fact I would recommend them!

Usually very pleased with Chemist Direct as already stated.
But today it has transpired they accept orders for and list items in stock- when the item is "expected" and not actually there.
Of course if that changes the customer has items cancelled which is not terribly good.
I had a stock alert to say an item was in stock and placed an order 30 mins later. Been waiting on this to come back into stock before ordering.
2 hours after that my order is despatched without that item.
Can't get it anywhere near as cheap elsewhere; and since I did a bulk order on other items which I needed anyway I won't be shopping with them any time again soon.
I have emailed them to suggest they review this dubious practise.
While I needed the other items anyway I was also putting off my order so I could get that out of stock item...

    Used them twice for Vitamins.

First order never arrived next day - they refunded the 'difference' between normal delivery and over-night.

Second delivery, just arrived today, is out of date ... emailed and awaiting response.

Don't think I'll use them again.
