"The vast majority of orders (over 90%) are despatched either on the same working day or the following working day."
Took 1 week to arrive, despite all being marked as "In Stock"
A lot of it was short dated, not marked as such in the description.0 -
Has anyone returned a faulty product to Chemist Direct? I bought (expensive) perfume from them about a fortnight ago and when I opened it, it was fake. The bottle was full of either coloured water or something else other than perfume, as there was no scent and certainly not the expensive scent I had paid through the nose for.
Having finally got through to customer services on the third attempt they firstly told me that their supplier had assured them there was nothing wrong and that they had never had a complaint about the perfume before.
Then when I said that there was most definitely a problem and explained the problems of selling an item not as described, they said I could return the item (at my own expense!!) for a refund. However, they said that they would have to check the item first. The item is definitely faulty but having now read the many negative reviews of the website I am a bit concerned that if I return the item they may just refuse to refund anyway. Has anyone any experience of returning items to them? Or should I just report them directly to the perfume manufacturer/trading standards etc?0 -
I want to order Mosquito Milk and the only two outlets I can find for this product are Chemist Direct (which I used successfully for this product in the past) and Direct Chemist.
Chemist Direct has such bad feedback on this site, I am wondering if Direct Chemist is actually the same outfit. There are many similarities in the two sites (price, delivery costs etc) and both seem to be based in the Midlands but there are two addresses and two phone numbers.
Any one know if they are in fact one and the same?0 -

I thought that might be the case. If the original company was doing badly for customer reviews and the founder wanted to start afresh, I wonder why they did not use a completely different name.
I am very wary of ordering from either of them now. Have things improved with Chemist Direct? As I said in my original post, I did order from them a couple of years ago without any problem. That was before I had seen this thread.0 -
I wish I had seen this thread BEFORE I ordered from Chemist Direct. I placed an order on 23/6 and this morning, a week later, I emailed to ask where my order was. Although I received a reply, it was telling me that due to an issue with a supplier, they will not be receiving stock until 4th July. There are plenty of companies that have live stock software; eg Zooplus.
Annoyingly, they took the payment from my account straight away. Companies like this should be pulled into line by consumer direct. I looked on their website but it seems my only rights are to a refund if they don't deliver within 30 days - I am not prepared to wait a month for things. One of the items was cat food that I could have ordered and had delivery of within 2 days elsewhere.:mad:0 -
I haven't ordered from them for a long time but did so on 22nd June, they later emailed to say one item was out of stock, a few days later they emailed that my order would be despatched within the next 24 hrs. Email received today says the item is still out of stock ! They haven't taken the money yet ... another company being added to my 'Avoid' list :mad:0

More spam recieved from chemist direct, this time to a different address (another one that I used to trap them). ChemistDirect still appear to complicit in compromising customers' email addresses, over a year after I first highlighted the issue.0

Appalling service. Things can go wrong, I acknowledge this, but my order placed (so far), 19 days ago still has not arrived, they have taken the money yet refuse to do anything until 15 working days have passed or 3 weeks and 1 day in my case.
THEN YOU HAVE TO FILL IN THEIR MISSING ITEMS FORM BEFORE THEY CONSIDER REFUNDING, so lets add another 5 days before I get my money back (why do you have to fill in a form, cant they write)?
This is simply not good service, they should be prepared to deal with such issues swiftly. They are of course happy to take the money.
It really is bad service, I never had the cause/desire to complain publicly about any organisation before this, but they are bad when things go wrong.
I HOPE YOUR ORDER ISN’T AN URGENT PRESCRIPTION, BEWARE!0 -
I've ordered from them 3 times previously over the last year. Never had any issues apart from some vitamin tablets having a very short best before date - didn't notice until a month or so after receiving delivery.
Until now.......
Ordered numerous items on the 8th Nov. On the 10th receive a delay email stating one item was out of stock and would be due in on the 15th. Then today I receive another email stating a delay because a different product is now out of stock with an ETA of the 21st.
I was under the impression that online shopping was time saving and convenient - this is by no means convenient. So what happens on the 21st IF the out of stock product arrives and then another product goes out of stock in the order? I wait another week for that and so on???
You would think that any IT driven business would have an inventory system which is live against the front end website. It would also not be that difficult to ensure that customers already waiting on a product to come into stock, would have their other pre-ordered items allocated to ensure they too don't become out of stock before the intended dispatch date.£9500 to go as of Nov 2011 :j Debt free by Summer 2012...I hope :rotfl:0
