Fortunately most people use Freecycle as it is supposed to be used. There aren't too many 'car booters' in my area - you get to know the names. They are the ones who are always on line, ready to 'hoover up' all the choice offerings within minutes of them being posted on the website.

I've got rid of loads of stuff, including all those freebie cds and dvds that arrive with various papers and magazines, and plants from the garden, which saves throwing them in the bin or the compost heap - which is what Freecycle is all about. I've not received much - my house is bursting at the seams as it is, so I'm more of a giver. It's a wonderful concept and I recommend it to all my friends.

I was homeless so practically furnished my house thru freecycle so thanks very much everybody!

Typically the "stuff" is already piling up, clearing out the girls bedroom tomorrow so norfolk freecyclers keep your eyes peeled for girlie "stuff|"

I tend to ignore the "wanted" requests, unless it's something simple. So far, I've received 3 old computers (from a local shop with too much stock) which I've fixed up to give to some local people with no computers. I've given away the surplus parts from those computers, a couple of chairs, and some books. I've only been on freecyle for a couple of months, though. I always wait to see what responses I get, though--I'm more inclined to wait until someone who is obviously genuine responds.

It seems I may have spoken too soon lol... I've just got an email confirming a microwave and I've just seen a 3 piece black leather IKEA suite :j I emailed them straight away, so hopefully, fingers crossed, I'll get it.
    Wish me luck lol

I know the feeling, when i list items on freecycle i always wonder if they are going to a good home or if its someone that wants to make a few £'s. I do go to local Carboot sales and you get to know who the regulars and the "dealers" are so i do try to remember there faces when they come and collect bits and bobs from me. So far the stuff i had given away as far as i know have gone to good homes. It does make me laugh with some of the requests that we have on ours, A few weeks back, someone was asking for isle of wight festival tickets That they wanted for free (and they cost about £130 + for 1 ticket). And some one asked for a NINTENDO dS hehe. :rotfl:

lol nintendo ds we had one on our local freecycle and there post was something along the lines of

    wanted psp
must be working with leads and games and only for collection in this area

kind of made me want to put a post like wanted this w/ends winning lottey tickets ir 3 bed house:rotfl:
