What have you given and received on freecycle?

Someone in my area had the cheek to ask on Freecycle for anything that people didn't want that could be sold at a car boot! Ok, he was being honest but thats totally against the principle of freecycle.
In saying that I've just received a freeview box from freecycle and had a good chat with the lady I got it from. Lovely person. Said freeview box is now in youngests room.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0 -
i do agree bout the carboot sale stuff but on my freecycle people have been offering bags of stuff suitable for carboot sale, their own words so not everyone minds if u sell it on,sometimes their just relieved tog et it out their way,but there are some people who go a bit too far and expect alot for nothing!Friends are like flowers that never fade away

Given - Fridge freezer, washing machine, 30 pregnancy magazines, 10 pairs of shoes, cot bed, sofa, double bed, pregnancy clothes, plus much more that I can't remember.
Received - Broken camera (freecycler said it worked), 14 inch tv, modem, pictures, sofa (now been given to another freecycler), coat for my mum, double bed (now given to another freecycler), plus a few other things I can't remember.
Years ago time was on your side with freecycle, nowadays if u don't respond to an offered ad in minutes it will have gone.
Sill love it tho.0 -

I think it varies with different groups. With my local Recycle4free you can reoffer after a week some I think are 2 weeks.
Like wise placing wanted adds, Some say no more than 2 or 4 a month etc.
You'll need to read the T&Cs
I think all my local groups state that you must OFFER at least 1 item before you place a wanted add.
My local Freecycle group (now called Wastenotwantnot) are now allowing adds for borrowing. Which I think sounds like a good idea, but in practice, I'm not so sure.0
