The Ironing Board

I've seen Lidl stock them occasionally - about £4 ea IIRC, and personally I have an old Army blanket folded underneath to add padding to the board. The children are growing & the blanket means I can do half a shirt front in one pass, for a little bit longer.
(That probably ought to read, so "They can iron their shirt fronts a bit more easily" but I just sorted the blanket - I leave ironing to my husband, having form for burning things.)0 -
Thanks, we'll checked both Lidl&Aldi's!0

I've got a Keter ironing board. It's plastic, large and stable. Bought some years ago from Argos. The iron I chose is a Rowenta (made in Germany) from Curry's or Dixon's. No problems to date and it has a self-descale setting and the instructions are to only use tap water.0

Wow! A lot has been written and posted on ironing. This will surely guide all the novices right from how to wash and dry so as to reduce the effort while ironing and secondly the proper way to ironing. I would suggest that once kids grow up, each should iron his own clothes so as to reduce the burden on one single person.0
