I have worked for this company for 25 years and am lucky enough to have had several different jobs for them.
I know what I earn is not a sniff of what you city slickers get, but in my area I have been afforded a very good life style which I am very greatful for.
If I had to leave them I would be in trouble because all that I would have to offer another employer is my expierences and no qualifications.

It can be a problem. I've a mate who is a fund accountant but never did his accountancy exams. It looked like he was going to lose his job but thankfully it never happened as he was struggling to get anything.

I'm not sure he's learnt his lesson however - I know it's tough to find the time but he really needs to pull his finger out.

Is the UK in recession yet? I didn't think you'd had the 2nd 1/4 of -ve growth yet. It's just a matter of time of course.

Green Shoots postponed until Q3 2009, e-Con will be really motoring in 2010 (Troosernomics). Mind you, will need to be - repaying this year's increase in debt will soak up 2-3% of GDP for a good few years (unless them pesky foreigners, obviously excluding the upside-down ones, stop buying Badger-Bonds).
