unravel tncu, then.
I had already worked it out from the excellent clue you gave:DRENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

should keep the anagram experts busy for a while.
(clue: chancellor of exchequer 1997 - 2007 ).
!!!!, I think. What with his being Danish, he had an odd name. Canute is easier to say (-:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Dirty minded filter!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
NO! Now listen CAREFULLY - the economy is simply correcting itself. You will be telling me next that the property market is crashing when everyone knows it too is simply correcting itself.
For goodness sake - get a grip.0 -

Nah nah nah, the economy may crash, the property market is simply correcting, until it retraces more than 50% of the preceding move up I'm happy to call it a correction,Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

There's a very interesting piece on the Bedlam Asset Management website about the predicament the government is in now a recession looks pretty close to a nailed on certainty.
Their point (which is a point I try to get across on here too) is that the productive part of the UK economy is basically restricted to the South East corner of England and Aberdeen. The trouble is, the next recession looks likely to hit that part of the country hard as financial services take a big hit.
They also predict house prices halving in real terms (35% nominal) drop between now and 2010. They predict that for the next 2 years, the banking sector will pay no corporation tax at all and that stamp duty receipts will fall by 65%. The UK govt will be forced to cut spending as they will be unable to get the money from income (taxes) or borrowing.
I agree with their summation of things. If you're relying on the Govt for your income that may not be as secure as you hope be it as a civil servant or on the dole.0 -
how much is actually generated by stamp duty
and how much by petrol duty
the ever increasing price of oil could provided a 'get out' in this regard
(I have no idea of the actual figures, so I stand to be corrected)It's a health benefit ...0 -
Culling Civil Sevants won't help, it just moves expenditure onto the Benefit costs. They really need to look at the un-necessary carp like ID cards, computer systems, foreign occupations, Olympics, PFI, etc. A standard cost-benefit analysis would show that these items are 'nice to have' rather than essential. And at some point, the welfare and benefit system will have to be reformed as it is unaffordable.
As for increasing revenues, what about closing tax loopholes, and re-vamping tax and NI so that personal allowances are raised, but a higher top rate?
You may not agree with all of my thoughts, but they are the type of decisions that need to be made, and quickly. Just pretending that things are fine, carrying on regardless and bottling necessary decisions is the road to ruin, as many people in debt (Myself included) have found out.0 -

I am FAR from convinced that ID cards and foreign wars are "nice to have"...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
