Well 4 years yes 4 years today since my story of BR began.

I have to say although the last 4 years have been anything but easy this date will be forever in my mind as the day i got my life back.

Yes its hard to get over and you never really stop working on sorting out your credit as even now i am working with the ICO with getting one creditor to change my credit file.......

For me well whats changed. I think its fair to say i have a problem with people who spend money as i feel often they are heading the same way as i went. I also hate to see people waste money and if i am honest i think it ruined my relationship as my ex as she liked to spend but i have become a real saver which in its own can be a shame as its kind of left me with a life having money but no relationship. I do think the process changed me for the better no doubt but in a world of spend today and worry tomorrow i feel like a old man who people often dont understand. I am 39 so maybe i am old lol. Im not tight but i am careful and maybe thats not fun for most women who want to go out and spend spend spend as opposed to a nice night in with a great meal and nice bottle of wine. (M & S Style) lol

Anyway i am now working full time and i live in a fantastic place with Poole harbour less than 20ft from my balcony so you can if you work hard from your financial kick come back from BR and thats a fact although its not easy i guess in a way i am proof that with great friends and hard work you can do it.

I have to be honest most of my closest friends now know my story and no one has ever avoided me because of it and for some of them i wish i had told them earlier as some of them had financial difficulties of there own which they approched me about and i am happy to say i have been able to help them with which i hope has been for the better for them.

Well i wont go on but what i will say is there will be days when you wonder if its all worth it and the banks will sometimes try and grind you down but just spend a little time everyday have a little fight back and you will begin to turn it round and dont forget there is always this forum for loads of help and advice for which i will always be trully thankful.

Wow! 4 years, really! That seems to have gone so quickly.

You are not old, I am quite a few years older and I have never had problem with a night in with a meal and a bottle of wine. In fact that is what we did for our first date with my lovely DH. Oh! and savings all the way here too :D We have become a lot more savvy in the last 6 years all due to the wonderful posters on here. So I say keep on doing what you are doing, there is a lady out there for you somewhere.

I am jealous of your balcony and view of the harbour. Lucky you.

All the best for a fantastic future.
