Well done on your first stone Lesley! I'd like to lose another 5 or 6lb to be at my 'comfortable' size although to be very truthful I'd like to lose more like 8lb but I can't see it happening! I want to maintain a healthy figure as I could see the scales starting to creep up and my Mum started to put on weight at around my age and ended up a size 22 after having kids and I don't want to be like that. I've seen her struggle with her weight my whole life and I don't want it to become an issue for me too.
I really hope I never get so desperate for something sweet that I try sugar free jelly! It doesn't sound good! LOL!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
yaaay welldone on the first stone!!!.. thats brilliant news
hate ordinalry jelly so cant think what the s/f stuff is like bleeurrgghhh
i went up to a size 26 after kids.. it sort of creeps up on u before u realise.. i know that sounds weird but it does so its good to sort it out before it startsWhen you know better you do better0 -
Thanks Birdie and Shykins
the largest I ever got to was a size 24 but when I split with my ex I lost 6 stone in 6 months!!Through sheer grief I may add:o
I do agree that the weight does creep on because I used to be a size 10 before having kids and slowly but surely after each pregnancy I've gained a bit and not lost it and then you end up nibbling on biccys and crisps with the kids and eating your normal food
I'm 13stone 2lbs now and my next goal is to get below 13 stone.I dont want to set myself massive targets as you never know what can happen to throw your life into turmoil and then the last thing you want to think about is dieting. So I'm taking it a day at a time

Hi Everybody
Well here is a piece of info I read that might be of interest to anybody who is finding weight loss slow. I read that it is the reduction of insulin in the body which is what makes low carb diets work so well, however the author of the book I read (I forget his name will find it for you if you want to know) says that dairy products can cause certain people to produce more insulin that the carb level they contain would indicate. So if you are struggling might be worth cutting out dairy for a bit to see.0 -
I love sugar free jelly.
It's the wobble I think0 -
I don't mind sugar free jelly but it is much nicer with fruit in it, also it sets quickly if you use frozen berries which is handy.0

I've just been reading Diet and acne and that provides a couple of links that might help you understand the connection better. Go Dairy Free

Eek!! I'm quite happy with slow loss (another 1lb lost this week :j) and as I'm veggie there's no way I could do low carb without dairy

Wow a low carb thread! Ive been low carbing for a year and a bit and Ive lost 4stone so far, was a size 18 now Im a 12 and I feel really good on it.I am fed up of people saying "its bad for you" and it will "mess your kidneys up" when they know nothing about it and only say that because theyve heard it repeated before. My blood pressure has come down and Im sure Im a lot healthier than I was a year ago! Hello fellow low carbers!November £10 a day challenge. Im starting early- 66p so far!0

Another post about milk lol but not totally related. I do love coffee and probably drink at least 4 cups a day, I don't mind switching to decaf but I need something to whiten it. I haven't decided to cut out dairy yet but cream is so expensive if I use that much. What is the best substitute for milk. I do hate the way soymilk sometimes seperates in coffee yuk - my Gran uses it- but the taste is ok.0
