thanks saz.. i am one of those people full of ideas but master of none lol.. .anyways i use the cut and come again lettuce seeds, like mizuma, oakleaf etc, i sow some every 3-4 weeks then pick off the ones that grown, when they are all gone the next lot is normally ready.. have a great holiday!!
i am not now going away so wont be deserting after all even tho there will only be a few of us around thinking of the others on holiday
sunny here too, wow 2 days in a row!!! scary

Hi everyone! Finally I can check in!
I'm still on the diet, and it is getting easier despite the fact that my Dad (sadly I live at home still with my parents, but only until Jan!) keeps eating the food I prepare! On Tuesday he ate my sausages, Wednesday he ate the leftover lamb I was planning on taking to work for dinner and yesterday he ate my bacon! I'm wasting away because of him! LOL! I'm thinking about getting stickers to put on my food so no-one touches it!
I found some low carb chocolate bars in my local chocolate shop yesterday, does anyone know if they're any good? They say 3g carbs per bar which seems OK but I'm worried about them having things in that will stall me? Not that I'm allowed to have any until Tuesday but a girl can look!
I'm going out with a couple of friends tomorrow and I think we'll end up in a restaurant, my first time eating out since starting! I'm feeling a bit worried but I hope to find something I can eat without being tempted by chips and garlic bread!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
lol at yr dad maybe he should join u on the diet then he can make his own lol
as for the bars,, well i always stall if i have them and to be honest a lot of them taste pretty yuk anyways .. oh and cos of the sugar alcohols they can give u tummy issues!!!
where u goin to eat?? google it and see if they have amenu online then u can decide before u go whats suitable... i just ask for them to replace the potatoes with salad now

I have told my parents to do the IPD with me but they keep coming with excuses not to! I just think that the idea of 2 weeks with no booze is too much to bear! It doesn't stop them wanting a taste of everything I cook for myself though!
I'm not sure where we're going, probably TGI Fridays or Frankie and Benny's. I'll check on the websites now for menus, thanks for the tip!
Hmmm, may steer clear of the bars! Although I'm tempted to try one just to see!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Hi to MrsXXL! I've found that snacking isn't such a problem, the protein and fat content seem to fill you up for longer than carb-heavy meals do. If I do feel the need to snack, a slice of ham, a piece of fruit or a bit of cheese PLUS a glass of water, does the trick.
Remembering to drink a fair amount of water is important to avoid "bird-cage-floor mouth" - which can be a side-effect of the diet. I think it just highlights the fact that if you actually feel thirsty, you are already dehydrated!
Hopefully this will be the diet that "clicks" with you - I'm really enjoying it at the moment and feel I'm eating more healthily than I have for years (loads more veg etc)."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
Thanks all for your replies. I keep losing my post I try to make so wont put much this time, but I am going to follow your advice and try the 2 week induction and see how it goes. I am going to try to start tomorrow will let you know how it goes.
Also any more LC moneysaving ideas welcome.0 -
MS tip - I buy large bags of frozen veg (Iceland/ Farmfresh/Lidl etc) and cook an assortment together in a pressure cooker. Loads of cauli, broccoli and green beans (easy on the peas/sweetcorn and carrots!) - great with minced lamb in bolognese sauce or fish in parsley sauce. Grated cheese over mixed veg is lovely on it's own or with whatever else you are eating.
I buy economy bacon and eggs because once you start cooking them for yourself, everybody wants some!
Plan your main meals so that everyone eats basically the same, just cut out the potato/pasta/rice from your portion and replace it with veg.
There will actually be some extra pennies in your budget if you reduce the quantities of cakes, biscuits and crisps you might normally buy"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -

Morning Everyone
Up with the lark this morning as hubby was on earlies
Not too bothered about it though as it is weigh in day and hubby returned my confiscated scales last night:j
I am delighted cos I've lost 2lb!!!!!!!!!!!
So altogether since starting low carbing I've lost 12lb!!!!!
Only two more pounds till my first stone:T
Went to Maccys yesterday with the kids for the first time and although it felt decadent and wrong I ordered the chicken and bacon salad minus the dressing and whilst not the best thing I've ever eaten it was low carb and better than nothing.I couldnt get the image out of my head all day though that I'd broken the diet by eating Maccys when in reality I'd been good
Sausage for breakfast with bacon and eggs
I found some nice sausage yesterday in asda they were pork, garlic, red wine and parma ham and only 0.2gcarbs/100g!!
Tinks I love the Lemon Cheesecake recipe and might give it a go next week.
Have a nice day all
