Ah well from someone who is not perfect but trying hard-here goes!
I had an awful urge for a bag of chips and curry sauce tonight! I could visualise it-taste it etc etc.
That may sound negative-the positive bit is that I came home-weighed out some frozen parsnips and I grilled 150g of them with a piece of B/E chicken-and sprinkled it with curry powder. Total net carbs approx 18g. Not induction friendly-not angelic-but nowt like what I could have done!
I was tempted too with fruit today and had a med banana and a med apple.
Well-Ive done 4 weeks of induction and was stalled anyhow. I wwill get back on the wagon! So-today was naughty but just imagine if that had been half a family trifle and a big bag of chips with a whole tub of curry. That would really of messed me up!
I dont want to screw around with my metabolism though and having come this far Im proud of putting the brakes on my little lapse!
Apart from that I had tuna and salad leaves and mayo for dinner, then a s/f jelly. Cheese and chirizo slices for breakfast. I was invited out for a meal tomoz but declined.
I call it "adjusting" to my new way of life.
I may just go lowcard rather than Atkins in a few weeks-I shall see but what I am sure of is that it will be lowcarb one way or another.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -

This isn't just a support forum thread. It is good to have folk on board who put us straight. Also we have moneysaving. I have appreciated the 'heads up' on pepperami and the good deal H&B have on coconut oil at the mo.
I don't think you should go. Maybe a little more information from me will help you see why we aren't all as committed as yourself.
The reasons we get overweight are many and varied. Mine was depression and I doubt I'm alone in that. Over the last 12 months I have tackled it nutritionally, and seem to see real benefits. Low carb helps. I have also taken on Vitamin D which I believe has done me as much good mentally as physically (if the 2 can be separated)
When 'The Black Dog' is on me I do not care about my good choices and deliberately sabotage myself due to lack of self worth. This leads to guilt and further lack of self worth because I am rubbish at this.
It is inspiring to hear about people who have motivation, for whatever reasons. So your input is welcomelively debate is always useful
Since I changed my diet and took supplements black dog hasn't visited as oftenBut it is still there.
Changing these things takes time. Being able to come here has helped.
Glad you like the recipes! I mostly only collate but I hope it's a useful resource.
My big fall down was cake. I haven't had anything sweet or with sweeteners for over a week. We get stronger everyday, just doesn't all happen at once for everyone.
Big love to all low carbers!

I appreciate your candour and am really pleased you are having more good days than bad. :T
I really didn't intend to give anyone a hard time and understand people have their reasons. I also realise it is not for me to say what is valid or not and some have bigger hurdles.
When I was talking about the moaning side of things I really mean people who seem completely unwilling to commit when there is no reason they can't. I need a glass (bottle) of wine, muffin, whatever. Noone needs them they want them... end of story. Then it is followed on by the I haven't lost weight thing. Then the worst of it is they unknowingly are wrecking their metabolism & cholesterol.
I have never suffered from clinical depression. SAD is the closest I ever got and this year my weekly sunbed and being back on the Atkins has seen that off. However, I am fully aware that is the teenie tiniest problem to yours. I also know if I eat the carbs I do have a massive mood dip. Does it do that to you? I mean chemically not the hard time you give yourself.
To everyone else... I'm not blanking you I just work mad hours and if I don't go to bed NOW I will collapse tomorrow! I just needed to get the dead important posts done now.0 -

.
I`m not having a go at you.
But, how about this for a theory.....the sweetness of the `nana and apple could have "set you off" on a carb binge, which then made you fancy the chips. Next time you have a fruit craving, try something more Atkins-y like berries. They`re not so sweet. I think the trick is, knowing your triggers.
Only a suggestion, don`t want to start another war.

No worries-no warzone here! You are most likely correct in what you say. I guess that my bad ways of old,do catch up on me at times too!
The devil is always there to tempt us I suppose. Well-I didnt have any berries in the house and if Id gone to the shop goodness knows what I may have bought! And the big Co-op is only over the back of where I work! Decided it was safer to stay where I was. Sometimes the lesser of 2 evils-but can still indeed cause problems.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Oh guys, I am so tired! Hardly finding the time to post on here any more, with all the working and socialising that comes with me new job... spent a good couple of hours just hopping up and down the train line today! So again, a "grab what you can" menu:
- No breakfast
- Veggie sushi and an egg/tomato baguette
- Berrocca
- 6 whiskies (paid for by the CEO, to loosen us all up)
- Chinese vegetables, cashew nuts, beancurd and seaweed with green tea
I am loving the City lifestyle though, will get used to it soonJust can't believe it's still only Wednesday! I realise the above is hardly a good example to follow, it really seemed the best I could manage on the hop (I do generally make my own food but I just didn't know where I was going to be or when today, and was away from home for 13 hours again).
Good news is, with all the rushing about walking around cities etc (no more driving), my weight has not moved upwards at all...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

Hi hun
Yep. Eatin the carbs makes it easier to be more miserable
Re: SAD Supplementing with Vit D really does help. Most sunbeds now don't give UVB very much so doesn't up your vit D. (can still make you feel better, mind) See Ted's posts for more info, he's the guru
Thanks for getting back, we are all on the same path and I can understand your frustration with people who wreck it for themselves. I'm sometimes frustrated with myself for that very reason. :rotfl:
Night night all, time for bed.
