I have to say I think it's a great deal - I see Tesco are now doing one for £9 but you don't get anything like the range of choices for each course that you do with the marks deal - and the current Tesco deal isn't low-carb friendly at all, from what I could see...
lol mazzers, rest assured I do eat a lot of leeks the rest of the time, just cutting back radically on veg intake at the mo - but normal service will be resumed shortly!:D

Saz, I'm cutting back on my veg at the mo but have also stopped the mushrooms as well. Are mushrooms not that bad then???

Hun, tbh we're only having them tonight because we've had them for a while and I don't they're going to keep for much longer - and I'd rather have them than bin them lol
I don't think mushrooms are that bad, but it's the first evening veg I've had this week and as I say, just to use them up reallyAwww... I'm sure a few fried mushrooms for brekkie can't be that bad xx
I tell you what hun, if I'm not one and a half pounds lighter by the end of this week there'll be a murder in these here parts!:D :rotfl:

Newish, how long you been doing LC?
For those using flax, there is a warning if you google it, diarrhoea is one thing (had it yesterday) and it thins the blood so not to use before any planned operations, I'm unsure what to do as i'm on low dose aspirin, altho my cholesterol is low so might see doc about coming off it.0 -
maz - flax is very high in fibre, so i limit myself to one slice a day to minimise the laxative effects - but I was finding to begin with that the lack of fibre on a l/c diet was having the opposite effect, so one slice a day helps keep me regular without having to buy supplements or packets of stuff to do that, plus flax is a good source of omega 3 - so there's other benefits with it as well.
If you're not used to eating flax, it's a good idea to build up the amount you have gradually and give your body time to adjust!:) It's also advisable to ensure you drink more water when you eat flax too, due to the high fibre content.
As for blood thinning - I can't say I've come across that so can't advise, but always best to speak to your doctor hun xxx4 May 20100 -
STICK TO A LOW-CAL DIET AND IT WILL WORK This article is commenting on This research That compares several different calorie reduced diets.
But the lowest carbohydrate intake was still 35% so it was not what readers here would call "low Carb" similarly readers will be well aware that I did not reduce calories intentionally, because I lost my hunger cravings I found it easier not to snack so may have eaten fewer calories but I never calorie counted but am still certain I ate more daily than required for basal metabolism.
They also limited intake of saturated fats and as it's saturated fat that our body stores and is geared up to use best that also will have adversely affected their results.
20% of energy from carbs is a carbohydrate-reduced diet.
10% energy from carbohydrate is the upper limit for low carbdieting.
5% energy from carbs is Atkins type low carb
15% energy from protein is about right for couch potatoes
25% energy from protein is needed for people who are training or who need to build muscle.
The rest needs to be fat, preferably from natural animal sourcesMy weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

blimey i go out for a couple hours and u are busy little bees... i have been needled to within an inch of my life but it does feel better lol
i am not a big fan of flax tho i do use it in small amounts mixed with other stuff.. not sure about the blood thinning tho
tbh i get a bit fed up with all these articles, one minute sommat is good for us then its bad, then ooops its good again.. u can find a study to prove or disprove just about anything, no doubt there is a study somewhere that would prove grass is green!!!!
i agree cant belvie tescos meal deakl can be anything like the M&S one even if it is their finest stuff... if the large chickens are in the deal i may be tempted with another one of them
