Good morning everyone including newbies :hello:
Think it's week 7 for me & it's weigh day!! Least said about that the better - I gained 5 lbs!! :rotfl:
No surprise there then!! Don't worry I don't expect or deserve any sympathy!! :rotfl: I shouldn't be laughing but if I don't laugh I'll cry!!
Did anyone see supersize/superskinny last week? Well, there is a condition, in America, called carb-face & that's exactly what I have this morning!! Basically I have a pudgy, water-logged face!! I am sooooooooooo gonna get rid of that ASAP!!!!
So, I'm back on the wagon as of today & menu will be:
B - 2 egg (not cream egg!!) cheese omelette
L - salad, probably tuna
D - burger with peppercorn melt & cheesy leeks!! Yay!!
Might open a bag of S&V peanuts tonight if peckish.
Have a good day everyone.:D0 -
OK, maybe a dumb idea, but I'm new and still getting to grips with this low-carb stuff....
Polydextrose - it appears to be a fibre that forms a gel when mixed with water....could it be substituted with either gound linseed / flax or possibly something like unflavured Fibogel? (although I have no idea if anything else is added to fibogel, could be a huge amount of sugar in it?)0 -
Just seen what Fybogel is for....well, it would keep you regular! Maybe that was dumb idea of the day from me there!0

A couple of ingredients in that Creme Egg recipe are elluding me... so I think I may have to just try:
85% dark chocolate
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp double cream
1/2 tsp xantham gum (from the "free from" section at Morrisons)
1/2 tsp good vanilla
Good old squirt of agave nectar (or other sweetener)
1. Melt chocolate over a bain marie, brush into the egg molds and leave in the fridge to set.
2. Heat butter and cream over a medium heat.
3. Bring mixture to a boil and gradually whisk in xantham gum. Remove from heat and add vanilla and sweetener. Leave to cool.
4. Pour the cool mixture into the egg molds and pop in the freezer for 1/2 hour to set firm.
5. Take the now solid halves of egg, remove them from the molds and glue together with more melted chocolate.
6. Return to the fridge until eating time!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

I am pretty much addicted to them and they make up a large proportion of what I eat most days. The thought of going without is a bit ........well, eek!0

1 cup soya milk
2 tablespoons unsweetened smooth peanut butter
1 tablespoon double cream
Drop of vanilla essence
Teaspoon cocoa powder
Whizz it all up in the blender until smooth! Makes one portion... gives about 15g protein and about 6g carbs - it's on my induction list but I guess you just have to be careful about what other carbs you're having that day!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

Will be okay tomorrow as back at work, if I haven't lost a load of weight a week Tuesday I am going to go on a rampage . Down another notch on my belt.
If you are allowed nuts on your plan then I can thoroughly recommend KP salt & vinegar peanuts - they are lush!! Just keep to a small handful a day though!!0
