I am crying with laughter at everyone's farting reply's. I love the excuses- diabetes makes me fart. hilarious, only a fellow man could come out with an excuse like that for heavy flatulence. superb !

At least some HAVE an excuse! I don't but it doesn't stop the wind :)

You seem to be takin on the low carb thing whole heartedly Jim, nice1!

I love the low carb way but find myself wrestling with a darker part of me who seems hell bent on usurping my best efforts :(

That's why I'm not posting my eatings. It's not cos they're bad as such, it's more cos that be'atch inside me makes more of it, and plans my downfall. I have been low carb for 12 months or so and my health is much improved. Once I decided I needed to lose weight (this jan) my personal nemesis kicked in and started spoiling.

Don't let on I posted this, think she's too high on me spoiling next weeks lunches to listen in now :)

Big love to all low carbers (yes I'm mad)

Well, Day 5 of the Rose Elliot induction and I'm pleased to report I'm feeling MUCH better! I felt a desperate urge last night to eat anything fresh - a raw carrot, some fruit or fruit juice... I couldn't even face half of my dinner, sick to the sight of tofu (I think that's also because I had a lot of protein yesterday, over 100g). My lodger tried to force-feed me carrot cake, threatening me with a butcher's knife, but I avoided both that and the cans of Stella

    So, Day 5 begins with:
    - Chocolate energy shake (peanut butter, protein powder and cocoa)
    - Lunch - listed as vegeburger, but I've got last night's dinner in the fridge (smoked tofu fillet with mushroom cream sauce)
    - Three cheese cauliflower gratin with 1/2 tomato and salad
    - Brazil nuts

Mercy I know all about the inner demon. I love my salads, I really do, and I devour them. Now if I am cheating (and I haven't yet) and eating say chips, they are bland in flavour compared to 5 different salad leaves, red pepper, cucumber , tomato, chicken tikka and onion crispies- I know this to be true, yet why do I still eat the chips? It can only be the inner demon. I feel guilty eating them, I fell guilty afterwards and I vow never to do it again , but I probably will. I think its the whole process of going to the chip shop and queuing up and savouring the smells that I find hard to resist.
This thread is like an AA meeting ! Hi my names Jim and I cant stop eating carbs....

also agree i think its almost the memory of say fish and chips and all it evokes that makes us do it cos as u say when u get down to it they are bland.. same as quality street i know i dont like them now they taste too sugary but come xmas/easter etc sure enough i have some

all this fart and poo talk!!! like a flippin sewer in here . that should put u all off eating lol.. oh and HC my dog used to eat poo too i thot it was some sense of deficiency they had which they could get from the poo

  • Badger hope your not as hungry on that new diet. I know what you mean about wanting something fresh.

and all this talk about farts wouldnt be a patch on my breath would knock anyone out. *

Good to see everyone still struggling on.

Shy - Im going to sound like an attention seeker but iv have a bad day again major bindge and its not even cravings but its all just greed didnt even enjoy it.

I really deserve to have a few pound on but i have 1 pound of this week so total weight loss is now 12 lb.

We got chickens yestrday as were eating so many eggs its great to have fresh and free range. They havent laid yet but as soon as they do ill let you know what there like. Hubby has mushrooms growing and have a patch laid out in drills for corriander parsley radish's, leeks and chives. I wont need to go to tesco's at all.

I was wondering are there any carbs in sugar free chewing gum if you dont swallow it? The packet shows carbs but I reckon its for the gum itself and only if you swallow it. (ref *)

Sorry last question i know i have asked this before but the flax im looking for, for cooking porridge with etc is it ground or powedered. Thanks im going to go to holland and barrett today but not sure what im looking for.
Atkins started 26 Jan 09 so far lost 14lb 7lb to go
