I use pork scratchings ground up on salad leaves- lovely !
So its not just me with the gas then, I guess it must be the lack of sugars for the gut to breakdown.
"oh, your doing Atkins, you must have really bad breath", "not really, but my !!!! smells a whole lot sweeter !"0 -

Am definitely taking on board advice about growing leeks, etc. Thanks to Ted particularly.
Mercy, did you leave out the eggs? I did that too, in the flax bread recipe. I thought it was a little dry until I realised my error!
Coincidentally, I treated myself to some Total Greek yoghurt today. I love yoghurt, and used to make it myself a lot. We don't have an airing cupboard as we have a back boiler, so I used to put it in bed under the duvet - worked beautifully. Total's not too bad on the carbs, too, as long as you don't get the low-fat stuff. Can't wait to have some!
Sandy2, I would recommend a hot toddy or other alcoholic beverage. But, failing that, you can get sugar-free throat sweets.
I definitely don't fancy pork scratchings in any guise. And I don't fart either (ever).
Today's menu:
B: none
L: sausages and mustard; SFjellyAubergine Parmigiana
S: few squares of G&B organic 85% choc (I'm getting addicted)
The most extraordinary thing happened to me this morning. I joked earlier about being able to get into my favouritest Gap jacket, and I was so pleased about it.
I was in Waitrose car park and I crossed paths with a woman when it came to the 'sorry, you go first,' 'no, you'-type situation. And then she said to me, 'Goodness, you're nice and slim!' This woman was a total stranger and had no white stick or nuffink. I double-took and even wondered briefly if she was a plant, sent by my daughters or husband. Eventually I stammered my thanks, and told her I had recently lost two and a half stone. She replied that I looked 'well' on it and we went on our ways. I walked on air with an idiot grin on my face for the next 10 minutes.
How lovely is that though? She had no idea that what she said would have such an effect on me (bearing in mind that I was a tub of lard 5 months ago). A passing comment from a stranger and it lifted my day. Some may say that I should get a life, I know, but it was lovely.0 -

Yay! I can go 4 that!
I have not noticed a reduction in wind but scents of poo are reducedMaybe I'm just a windy girl and maybe I dint ever ave smelly farts or poo? Who can say?
Hope your digestive tract leaves you with less and less distress as the low carb adventure continues
Still **** stinks tho, doesn't it!
Praps as well. We're program'd not to like the smell so's we don't eat it
For when things go wrong - see the behaviour of a dog when fed on the wrong food:)
Love u guys n your digestive wonders! Wish I could stop farting

What a lovely conversation
. While I don't have problems in the farting department, I have not found that my poos are necessarily more fragrant.
Talking of dogs, my most beautiful baby, Pippa (see avatar, though she's a year older than that now), is so adorably pretty but eats poo whatever chance she gets. I do feed her, honest!0 -

No, My prob was I have a massive frying pan. Think if I had a small one they'd work great! will try using less or getting a smaller (8 inch) pan 4 next time. Still to use the **WOW HOW CAN U** scratchings formula. But rekon it's still worth doinI got scratchings
Big love to u all!
PS How do I stop farting? Any suggestions would be appreciated. They don't stink but seem unavoidable.

Mercy, my OH's farting has got much worse since he was diagnosed diabetic - I understand it's the drugs. Charcoal has always been the traditional remedy for this affliction, and I've threatened OH with it. I wonder if it's still available.0
