Low Carb Diet (atkins)

Teehee, Shykins, I saw that crackling today too but got whole chicken instead. Never heard of sugar alcohol carbs, mind. Won't be eating it again anyway.
Avstar- As long as you don't cave in just to be polite, it's easy done. They're either envious of your self-control and trying to jeopardise it or they're just being kind and sharing. I would maybe say "thanks but it aggravates my IBS (fictional!)" Or just say you're diabetic? If you don't wanna fib just stick to your guns and hope they quit.0 -
I find getting evangelical about the evils of sugar get them off my back pretty quickly0

By the way - I'm really struggling with my work colleagues. They just keep forcing food on me - and I'm running out of ways to politely say I don't want it .........HELP!
I'm not overweight, but I would like to be slimmer. My main reason for lowcarbing is health benefits and they just don't get it. This week I've had to fight off sweets from someone's holiday, jam donuts and carrot cake. They make me feel if I say no I'm snubbing my nose at someone's celebration....and then I get all the comments about how they are more overweight than I am so I've got to eat it etc......what to do?! I'm not very good at confrontation and they are a lovely bunch but its getting on my wick now.
Avstar, I just had to reply. I used to have this with my ex-colleagues when I was thinner, they were just jealous beatches and I ended up saying I had high cholesterol! That shut them up. They were quite hurtful before that, saying 'ooh, who does she think she is, skinny so-and-so'... it was like playground bullying!
Your colleagues sound nicer than that but they are still trying to sabotage your healthy eating! Don't give in. Make something up if you have to. You have my sympathy.Get to 119lbs! 1/2/09: 135.6lbs 1/5/11: 145.8lbs 30/3/13 150lbs 22/2/14 137lbs 2/6/14 128lbs 29/8/14 124lbs 2/6/17 126lbs

Yeah, I'm certainly being a bit wishy-washy but 5 days a wk I am strict then I relax a bit at weekends or whenever my days off are. There seems to be a few, however, that are just generally low-carbing and getting results but that may depend on how disciplined you are and what your starting weight is.
Like Avstar and Stacey, I don't need to lose much, it's more that this is a better way of eating, period. But, certainly I think I'd be better off following 1 plan as I need boundaries!!0 -

I don't understand the 'relax a bit' bit. Low carbing isn't a part time thing!0 -

Well, if i (the veggie) can manage it.................
It's horses for courses I guess. I feel lousy if I overdo the carbs - not sure you're truly low carbing if you only do it 5 days a week.
But it's just my opinion - you should do whatever feels best to you.0 -

Oh I get it. And who are you? the fricking Low-Carb Police? Why don't you take your self-righteous attitude and shove it? And talking of anuses, at the age of 32yrs, I am not gonna sit here and say I will never eat another potato as long as I live! Now that's anal!!!0 -
Pillypilla, won't that mean that you will come out of ketosis? I know its hard, I lost 2 1/2 stone the first time I started low carbing, then I went on holiday and thought stuff it I'm going to enjoy myself. Well after i got back I weighed myself and put some much weight on it demoralised me and I soon reverted back to my 'old bad ways' By all means you should enjoy what you're doing , but just take it easy and becareful that you don't over do itJuly Win: Nokia 58000
