Hi nimpoppy
This is my third time on Atkins (or generally low-carbing, anyway) in 24 years, and it's working fine for me. There's something in the IPD that mentions it not working so well as the first time, if you fall off the wagon and go back on induction, but they offer no evidence, anecdotal or scientific, for this - and it seems not to be true. (Unless anyone has experienced otherwise?) I fall off regularly, clamber back on and all seems fine.
Of course, the thing is keeping the blasted weight off!
Sweet, do you have a recipe for your chicken pesto - or is it the one from Marks?0 -
In the atkins cook receipies it says to use soy flour. Where can I buy this from and at whay price?sw start date 23/09/2013 4 st 8 pounds to go....as of 21/10/13 not 3 stone 7 to go for first target. updated 18/11/13 now 2 stone 10lbs to go to first target.0

Thank you for warm welcome.
Breakfast was always a problem for me
Tescos however have come to the rescue, they do cheese omlettes 2 in a pack and it is 5 for £3 or something. Come in very handy in the morning.0 -

I had a look for this the other day. Couldn't see it in Waitrose or Sainsbury's, but they had it in our little local health shop - about £1 for a small bag, I think.Thank you for warm welcome.

I hate breakfast and never eat it. But ready-made omelettes??? Do they taste good?0 -
HC They taste better than the ones that I cook. They are just enough to keep me going.
My plan at the moment is
Tesco Cheese omlette
Snack - Celery and cheese
lunch - salad
dinner - cauliflower mash and steak or another horrible combination0 -
I've just had a look at them on the Tesco website - I had no idea you could buy such things. Ingredients look OK - no nasties except xanthan gum. 3.4g carb per omelette seems high, but maybe that's what a home-made omelette would be - I've never added it up.
One of the hardest things I've found about this WOE is when you need to take food with you somewhere. I work at home now, but I used to take a LC salad with me when I worked in an office and was low-carbing. Recently I've had to trail round the country taking my DDs to uni interviews/open days and have found it difficult to think of something decent to take with me so that I can avoid the sandwich lunches they provide. So if you don't have time to cook breakfast, or you need to take something into work with you, I can see that these might come in handy.0 -

Instead of mash, heat double cream with blue cheese and pour it over the steak. Serve with a yummy green vegetable like asparagus (cheap, frozen) or cabbage or nutmeggy spinach.
Can you tell my work is boring today?I should stop fiddling with the internet and get on with it.
