  • The road from 137 kg This is a Google Translate version of a blog about a Swedish woman, who has just published a book on how she lost weight low carbing.

    This is what she ate
Simplified cheatsheet Looks a lot like the plan I followed. I haven't tried to correct the translation so you'll have to guess.

Lotta wanted a simple reminder of what is right and what you should avoid eating when you put on his life as a GI.
I would first like to say that what works for me might not be the most perfect for you, you have to try to produce a little bit but I am quite convinced that no one needs pure sugar in their diet.
The following is what works for me:
(This list will be filled at all because, hopefully with your hjäp!?)
    --
    Top:
All with high protein content, for example: Meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, eggs, cottage cheese.
    Butter
All above-ground growing vegetables tex: All kinds of lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower, lentils, eggplant, squash, soyabönor, peppers, cucumbers, beans, HARICOT.
Raw carrots (Raw carrots have a low gi, cooked, they are much worse.)
    Avocados
    Mushrooms.
    Lemon, vinegar, onion, garlic.
    --
Ok, eat, but stick to moderate amounts
Dairy products, beans, nuts, quinoa, sausage, beans of various kinds. (Soaked them any time himself.)
    --
Eat sometimes or in small portions:
Wholemeal products from cereals, such as fullkornspasta, husked REHASH and chilled potatoes, bread made from leaven with a high proportion of whole grains, fruits, maize, root vegetables, juice, dark chocolate over 70% cocoa, sushi, dry wine.
    --
    Leave it in full:
All sugars, candy, cakes, white bread, plain pasta, mashed potatoes, jasminris, beer, couscous, cornflakes, riskakor, crispbread, popcorn, risnudlar.

Thanks for the muffin recipe Shykins. If I can't get the splenda packets can I use any sweetener? How much would I need? My OH is on the Atkins and is craving for something sweet. The muffins would go down a treat.

  • Could Excessive Fructose Intake and Uric Acid Cause Type 2 Diabetes?

We propose that excessive fructose intake (>50 g/d) may be one of the underlying etiologies of metabolic syndrome and type 2 diabetes. The primary sources of fructose are sugar (sucrose) and high fructose corn syrup.
First, fructose intake correlates closely with the rate of diabetes worldwide.
Second, unlike other sugars, the ingestion of excessive fructose induces features of metabolic syndrome in both laboratory animals and humans.
Third, fructose appears to mediate the metabolic syndrome in part by raising uric acid, and there are now extensive experimental and clinical data supporting uric acid in the pathogenesis of metabolic syndrome.
Fourth, environmental and genetic considerations provide a potential explanation of why certain groups might be more susceptible to developing diabetes.
Finally,we discuss the counterarguments associatedwith the hypothesis and a potential explanation for these findings. If diabetes might result from excessive intake of fructose, then simple public health measures could have a major impact on improving the overall health of our populace.
