  • Morning everyone :hello:
Well, the senna hasn't worked very well so I'm still feeling a bit bloated. My face has gone all puffy & spotty too, which I'm assuming is linked? Two more tablets tonight methinks as I still haven't managed to get the fibresure (looked in Morrisons today but didn't have). Going to have a look on Amazon after this.
Have been to M&S for the Meal Deal this morning so have an a bun dance (abundance, just daydreaming about sticky buns having a jig about :rotfl: ) of lovely food to choose from over the next few days. Having said that my menu for today is not that exciting:
B - blues/rasps & cream (am I never going to get fed up of this?!)
L - salad (including my HM coleslaw which is DELICIOUS!! so thank you for telling me about that)
    D - pork escalopes & cheesy leeks
    pud - jelly fool
Right, I'm off to have a jig with those buns!!
    Have a lovely day everyone.

Question time again - am taking DD to football tomorrow night and apart from the fact I'm gonna be freezing my bits off I need some snack ideas please (she will be taking the usual of sweets, crisps and a sandwich oh and a flask of soup - have the feeling she thinks were gonna get stranded somewhere!lol)
How about cooking some low-carb sausages beforehand & wrapping them in foil? Sorry, I'm assuming you are a meat-eater there. :o

I usually take home made soup, today is Celeriac and leek made with a proper bone stock (marrow bones are free from your local butcher and home made stock contains Vitamin K2)

and I also take a container of what is basically "sandwich fillings" so bits of chicken/salad/bacon cheese.
a few nuts as well in case I feel peckish but I can now miss meals without noticing so as I'm not likely to have cravings it's more of habit than need.

I bought one of those STANLEY food flasks for the soup and it works quite well.

I was wondering about buying one of those stanley flasks, but i can microwave stuff at work so can't really say I need it at the mo. Moon - i was also going to suggest you take a suitably low carb soup, or sausages/meat. Or veggie option a piece of crustless quiche? SweetS - glad the h/m coleslaw came out good.

Am feeling a bit flat today. Weight still refusing to budge even tho I've been pretty good. Ho hum. Work has been stressful past two weeks, I'm out tonight with some colleagues past and present to let off steam and sod it, I'm afraid to say it will involve wine lol:o Weight's not moving so may as well enjoy myself!

Have a lovely day everyone

    Much love,

  • Ted, soup is one thing I'm missing & I've been thinking of making some. Bought some powdered stock yesterday, Marigold organic swiss vegetable bouillon which is reduced salt, but the carbs per 100g are high (32.5). The main ingredient is rice flour so I'm assuming that's where the carbs are coming from. Should I be steering clear of this?
I must admit I can't stand watery soup which is why I bought the stock. When you say you use butcher's bones, do you mean like the ones you would give to a dog?
Would also like a creamy soup - does anyone know how you do that? Do I just add cream?

You don't have any control over what life throws at you.
You DO have control over how you react :)

That cold's bloomin horrible vik - I think we've all had it:rolleyes: Shykins has been off her food for the past few days. I know we're on the subject of soup here at the moment - but maybe that might appeal? To be honest, when you're ill, I tend to think you should listen to your body and have what you feel like having. That's what I do anyways...

Hope you feel better soon hun
