Aw that's rotten HC. I'm really sorry to hear that.
I've just run in to say Hi and wave to everyone really.......I'm going to try a new tack today and not think about food too much, I think I'm focusing on it more than I should and I'd be better if I tried to not even let it enter my mind. So I'm still here and still going but I may not read or post much today just to see if it makes any difference psychologically.
Lol......probably a lot of !!!! but you never know. :rotfl:
Have a good day guys. See you all later.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Thanks, Badger, Daisy and aliasojo. We were half expecting it, to be honest, but we're a bit in limbo as it could be any time in the next two years, and he'll get three months' notice - he can't leave before that if he wants his payoff. He's only been there two years, but it's a very large company and we believe they make a healthy minimum redundancy payment, rather than the statutory amount. I hope that what we've heard is correct. He took voluntary redundancy (is there a pattern here?!) from his last company, where he'd been for 20 years, and that lump sum paid off our mortgage so we're OK from that point of view.
Ah well, such is life.
I would love a bowl of porridge! Some things I really do miss on this WOE.0 -
HC, sorry to hear your news. Even though you sound quite positive, it must still be a constant worry especially the way things are at the moment:(If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

Good morning ladies and gents,
I upped my fat intake yesterday, and I seem to have a bit more energy this morning.
We are off to the cinema straight after work, and I've been craving a chicken shish kebab for a few days, so I think that I'll have one of those for dinner, without the pitta of course.
I tried to follow the couch to 5k programme last autumn, and was doing ok, and onto the 3rd MP3 after 6 weeks, but as the nights drew in I lost enthusiasm. I noticed that it was still light last night when I got home from work, so I reckon I will start that again in a couple of weeks.
Daisy I noticed you are eating porridge before your runs/classes, is this just to give your body a quick boost before working out? did you feel unable to perform without a few extra carbs?
TTFNI can't read, and I can't write, but that don't really matter, 'cos I come from the Isle of Wight and I can drive me tractor.0 -
Good morning lovelies
Just a quicky sazzy. HC that's rotten news, even if you were half expecting it. Sending you hugs xx The limbo part is the worst I think.
shykins - glad to hear you're feeling better hun. If I do see you naked around MSE I'll say nothing... apart from you'd look much better doing it than I would!:D
aliasojo - I have to say I agree - I'm probably spending too much time thinking about food - and maybe that's not helping me either? Have been feeling less hungry the last couple of days, so hopefully that will free my mind to think about other things... well we can always hope:rolleyes::D
b - usual sausage and flax bread
l - usual salad/meat/cheese combo
d - prob roast pork or chicken and celeriac mash
oh, and another vote here for Cardini's original ceasar dressing :T
right, better crack on.
Much love to all
