  • Evening all.
Think I need the Atkins bars - I still haven't been properly (sorry if tmi)!! Didn't get to the chemist today & the Co-op only had senocot or dulca something or other?? Shykins, is Fibresure a natural product? I don't fancy taking artificial stuff.
Think it must be the time of year for feeling fed up, especially with OH's!! I had dinner planned - roast chick with cheesy leeks (mmmmmmmmmmmmm!!) and OH came back & said he didn't fancy a chick dinner as that isn't a mid-week meal?! Didn't stop him having chicken curry on Sunday!! Anyway, OH & kids ended up having pizza (smelt gorgeous :( ) & I had egg mayo salad. Really not what I wanted as I had prawn salad for lunch!! Definitely having my chick & leeks tomorrow!!
OH has just redeemed himself by suggesting we have a glass of wine & some cheese whilst watching an episode of Still Game in bed tonight. Would be kind of romantic if the kids didn't want to get in with us!!:rotfl:
  • Another quick question seeing as there is a yoghurt discussion going on!!
I've been wondering about getting some activia(?) - the one which helps 'transit' if you see what I mean?! Does anyone know if these would be a low-carb no no?

fibresure is a natural product SS theres also a similar one called benefibre i think
and you can buy them online at amazon - think the benefibre looks cheaper but only had a quick glance

have ordered some multi vits some chromium and some vit d - still have loads of omegas from when i was meant to take them when started low carbing - im rubbish at taking tabs so this lot will prolly sit and gather dust after a week - not very MSE !!

so had my porridge for brekkie then had a salad for lunch with cheese olives bacon and cesear dressing ( think im in love with it !! )
dinner has been mushroom and brocolli quiche with more salad

snacks have been a handful of red grapes ( !! ) a square of dark choc half a slice of ham and a cube of brie

    might have a clementine later

need to tweak how im going to make the porridge as it really wasnt very nice this morning - but did the trick - did a great run
i used to make it with a cup of water and half a cup of milk with a spoon of brown sugar
today i used water then added a splash of cream and splenda at the end

  • Hi Daisy,
I hate taking tablets so my advise to you would be to up your intake of fibre. I've just checked my box of linseed, also known as flaxseed, and the fibre content is 23g with carbs at 3.1 per 100g. I've been adding them to my nut roast, my choccy cakey things and this evening I've made some flax seed bread (although turned out more like a flapjack!). Actually, perhaps you could make flapjacks with flax seeds, nuts, maybe a few dried fruits, butter and maybe an egg to bind it all? Peas and sweetcorn are also high in fibre. or you could add flax seeds to your porridge. You probably won't even notice it. lol.

  • Daisy, what ceasar dressing do you use (or do you make your own)?:)

Had a good day today. Thought I would do some exercise  so cleaned the house from top to bottom (I definately don't do gyms;)):A

    B- scrambled egg and mushrooms
L- coronation chicken with bacon (lush) wrapped in lettuce:D
    S- ham and mushroom omlette

At least 2 litres of tap water and lots of decaf:coffee:
If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

    My way is Atkins;)

gaye - i take a couple of spoons of fibresure in my morning tea to help get me going
atkins and the IPD both encourage the use of supplements when low carbing and a few ppl on the thread do take supplements - have been feeling quite jaded since christmas and getting back on track so thought id give the supplements a try

newish - the brand i use is cardinis original cesear at 1.5g of carbs per 100g and about £1.50

  • Ooops! just read back through previous messages and think I should have addressed the fibre thing to Sweetserendipity. Well, everyone knows I'm useless at this computer thingy :)
