Low Carb Diet (atkins)

That's a top tip re chicken kievs, AB. And in fact, probably for a lot of things that would normally be coated in breadcrumbs, I would think? And stay away from the Fox's Crunch Creams - your doing really well:)
Gillette - the point I wanted to make earlier (before the need for lunch overtook me) was that maybe this low carb thing feels weird because we've been so brainwashed for so long about how low-fat diets are the answer, and so psychologically it's very difficult to go against that dogma, because it's so deep seated? Just my thoughts anyway...

I agree with the brainwashing
I make turkey kievs for my OH -free range turkey breast with a squeeze of cheat's garlic and a blob of butter, wrapped in free range bacon and baked in the oven.
He loves them0 -
oopsies taste more lik a sort of soft roll then bread, if u want to be able to toast something look at the instant bread recipe but the best lowcarb bread i know is a mix u can buy at lowcarbmegastore (not cheap tho)
is hard to say if how much cheese u ate is too much cos it depends on what plan u are doing, i know people say they dont like counting things but i found keeping to atkins induction very easy and really only counted the first couple days and now i NEVER count anything, if u want to keep count try a resource like www.fitday.com (bear in mind its an american site tho so u need to deduct the fibre carbs from the total to get yr net carb count)
yumm crem in coffee one of the delights of lowcarb, u can water some cream down to make milk (dont know about lactofree stuff so cant comment there)
please everyone remember to eat yr veggies and salad and also drink lots of water to keep yourseves hydrated
glad everyone is enjoying it so much

Idiot proof diet recommends no more than a matchbox size of cheese per day.
However, as a veggie, I have to eat much much more than that. Hence slower weightloss.
It is REALLY important to understand the low carb rules.
You can't just eat huge quantities of every kind of protein.0 -
shykins - I toast the flax bread and that's quite breadlike.
And yes, everyone eat their veggies!;)

yep saz i think the flax (instant) bread is as toastlike as u will get.. i tend to make it more from almond flour than flax as i am not a big fan of flaxmeal
tinkerbell is right that u should read up on the rules of what u are doing otherwise u will go wrong.... maybe we should all put at the top/bottom of our posts what plan we are doing so we dont confuse each other?

well I'm almost at the end of day three of Dr D's low carb diet and I cant really call it a diet cos strangely enough I dont feel deprived.I am a little concerned about portion size as I want to maximumise my weight loss as I have *cough* 5 stone *cough* to lose. But the Dr D version is miles better than the Atkins cos I tried the Atkins years ago before veggies were allowed and I couldnt even get through the induction as I was physically ill.I cant eat just meat it makes me ill and this one allows me veg which is fine by me.But and its a big but if I have scrambled eggs should I just have how many I want or is there a maximum I should have also someone mentioned that 1/4 pack of cheese was over the top.I've read Dr D's list and she doesnt specify amounts.I think I've been on too many restrictive diets in the past that I cant accept that this one is an anything goes sort of diet
