Over the last few days since I started this I seem to have done nothing but eat, mainly to reasssure myself I am not on a "diet!"
Touch wood, I have been able to bake bread and not wanted to sample any and not craved crisps, biscuits etc.
I have not weighed myself (mainly because I cannot face the scales!!!)
I am feeling less bloated, not constantly hungry and desperate and the flab seems to be changing shape!
Hi elonaI'm very impressed at your resilience re bread. I love making bread for family and friends but haven't dared risk it yet! lol
I'm am also amazed that I am not constantly hungry... but I'm not complaining:D

Hey Saz...
He runs an online bike parts shop.. so i'm helping him to list brake pads and things.. it's pretty boring, but it helps him out and keeps me busy..

You can buy lacto-free milk in both Tescos and Sainsburys (both fresh with the ordinary milks and also UHT versions). This has roughly the same amount of carbs as cream, and tastes just like normal milk. I hate cream in tea and coffee but can't tell the difference between this stuff and ordinary green top. My son even had it on cereal when we ran out of the normal stuff and couldn't tell.
Hope this helps some carbs counters.0 -

Ted is far better informed than me about this:D but I think I'm right in saying that the message given out to us about the relationship between fat and cholesterol is somewhat oversimplified, to say the least. There is apparently evidence to suggest that the so-called "bad fats" like saturated fat, can raise your "good" HDL cholesterol (high-density lipoprotein) - which reduces your heart disease risk - more than they increase your "bad" LDL cholesterol (low-density lipoprotein) - which increases the risk of heart disease. So they may not be such "bad fats" after all... but Ted will correct me if I'm wrong:)

I used to drink the fresh lactofree a while ago - it doesn't taste quite the same as 'normal' milk but wasn't too bad. I bought some UHT when I started the diet and it's disgusting.
I go without milk, and just have double cream in my decaff coffee0 -

Had they stayed on somewhat lower carbs than the trial permitted the results would have been even better.

Thanks for that ted, very interesting. So I guess the gist of that is, cholesterol improvements may be depend to some extent on a low-carb context.

How long does it take before I get over the weirdness of all this?
I just ate a 1/4 of a pack of cheese....... 0.1gm carbs.
So I did a good thing?...........But it's a 1/4 of a pack of cheese!!!!!
I had a chicken leg too.
I'm a hero.Girls are gonna love the way I toss my hair. Boys are gonna hate the way I seem.
I would rather drown with you than watch the surf with someone else0 -

- I'm sure the cheese doesn't see it that way. It is all a bit weird. I think it's a chicken and leg situation.
.... yes, I'd better go and have my lunch hadn't I?!

The hardest part for me is adjusting the shopping and not routinely picking up the bad stuff but good news on my much loved chicken kievs. Make ones own and roll chicken in oregano instead of breadcrumbs and it tastes better than the real thing:DWho I am is not important. What I do is.0
