Well my day has gone all to hell. I intended getting up early and heading to town for a coffee grinder but my youngest had other plans as she was up ALL night being sick, so you can imagine how big the bags under my eyes are.

I'm starving now but I know it's just because I've not had much sleep so I'm trying not to give in and eat. She's on the couch and I'm trying hard to not fall asleep in the chair next to her.

I have a feeling this will be a testing weekend. :(

Hope everyone else is staying strong. :)

    Ar'er noon peeps :hello:

So, what can I tell you. Well I'm feeling much better today! Almost human in fact lol. Thank goodness. Also, I have lost 2 pounds, which sounds ok, until I say that it only brings me within a pound or two of my pre-xmas weight:rolleyes: and still 4 pounds off my lowest of 9 and a half stone at the beginning of December:rolleyes: But I guess it's in the right direction at least...

Slow start to today so no breakfast, but yummy fry-up for lunch and sat here now with a lovely proper fresh coffee with cream. Not sure what we're having for dinner but may involve roast lamb and veggies of some description.

Aliasojo - sorry to hear dd's not well. The grinder can wait for another day hun. Hopefully you'll get a better night tonight. Hugs xx

Daisy - it may be you are just going through a low energy phase, y'know? I'd get that when I was running and that was when I was having all the carbs. But there are worse things than porridge - at least it is lower GI and therefore slow-releasing and therefore not spiking your insulin. So imo it's not the end of the world xx

pillipilla - good luck with the paleo diet :T - i'll be interested to hear how you get on with that.

ladyroughneck - well done on the loss!

shykins - *saz covers ears and eyes* :rotfl:

Right, enough procrastinating, I better get on and finish my bloomin tax return:rolleyes:

Have a great saturday everyone

    Much love,
    Sazzy xxxxxxxx

    Hi lovely folk!

Did v well this am, made sesame crackers again, think the recipe is just fine as it is. Had cream cheese pancakes which were nice but I think I need a smaller frying pan so they turn over properly. Went into town n got stuff sorted, WALKED to delivery office for parcel then WALKED home! 4 miles or thereabouts. :D

Feelin great, got some cool bargains. Did 1 hr in the garden as it was so sunny in Bolton area. Had session of 'Why we are so lucky' with the cats:D

Came back in the house and heard the Radio 4 play, twas about the piper alpha disaster an got knocked flat by the horror. Normally I just listen while I do stuff but this was mega. Spent a good 1/2 hr simply stood in kitchen lisnin. All I could do was smoke endless fags and av a couple o VATs. Left me feeling distressed yet without regrets for lisning to it.

Anyway opened the lovely parcel to find my best mate has sent me 1.4 kg of choc from Switzerland:eek: Not been tempted yet but she didn't know I've kinda given it up.

    Life's wierd.

    Heyho! Onwards and upwards!

Gona get on with HM curry and slowly roasting a nice rolled pork belly ting. Nowt like cookin good food for perkin a soul up.

    So
    B - cream cheese pancakes
    L - fags n booze lol
D - belly roast and cabbage with lots of butter and black pepper.
snacks - sesame crackers and cheese

Hope you all have a less traumatic day, on balance! (just need to reconnect with the happy, forward lookin girl I was at 2pm :) )

    Big love

    Ta Shykins!

The parcel has some cherry chocs which I will keep as they're my fave but not to be touched til I get to 10. 7 :D The rest are a hangover from xmas and bars of swiss choc I think they can go to our new neighbours across the road. They have kiddies and a mum who's much too slender :D Bit evil there but I doubt the kiddies will get to eat em all!:rotfl:

To take my mind off earlier things I've documented everything I put into my curry. As a research and development chemist the carb count should be an easy task :D I make it to eat without additions like rice so it's quite mild but tasty and easy to deal with.

    Best bits about today
I had loud and meaningful talk with cats detailing every way I/we are lucky
    nowt like talkin yourselves up!
I cried so I am not inhuman :rotfl:
I walked alot and felt good about it
I could come here to spout off! Good to know I can share in this low carb world of nutters!

Just helped me out with my calculations and thort I would share.

Goin off to create something nice to have after my tea. I have to as the gravitational pull of free and unexpected chocolate is strong :D

Thinkin of the choc dessert with vanilla extract, ever the chemist I will experiment and publish good results only :rotfl:so watch this space!

  • Good morning everyone, think I forgot to post yesterday so my meals were:
    B - M&S Raspberries/Blueberries with double cream (lush!!)
L - half a big curly cumberland sausage, bacon & mushrooms
D - Chilli (supposed to have roast veg with it but forgot to put them in oven!!)
Also had lots (too much) wine last night with cheese & peanuts so feeling a bit fragile this morning - why do I always wake up at ridiculous o'clock when I've had too much to drink the night before?! By the way the wine, in my defence, was because we had family over to stay so I was just being sociable!!
Anyway, haven't decided on meals yet, it's far too early to think about food, so I will hopefully report back later when the hangover has eased off a bit!!
  • Hello all

I am new here but have been lurking for a week or so - have decided to follow a low carb diet to see if it will shift this huge amount of weight.

Anyway I am happy to cut carbs at dinner time but really struggle with lunch at work - please can you give any advice?

I like soup but find that it is not filling enough and I get hungry again about 2/3 hrs later.

I do like salad but find it often goes manky in the fridge before I use it.....

    Many thanks
