    Nope no coffee grinder. :D

Ok...if I buy one tomorrow......how 'ground' do I make the seeds? :o Do they go like flour? :D

 I did tell you all I was no cook.:rotfl:

Lol x I'd say it's a worthwhile investment coz buying whole flax is much cheaper than ground and you max the nutritional benefits.

They dont grind quite as fine as flour coz they have a tough outer layer, but they'll grind fine enough

this may be long - id advise comfortable seating :)

right i have a little problem - from middle ish of october till just before christmas i have been following the couch to 5k running programme
things were going really well - tho ppl kept saying oh you wont be able to do distance on low carbs blah blah and as i was getting better and going further i did start to struggle with energy levels at times
if i ran in the morning my breakfast hadnt had time to convert to energy yet - protein taking much longer than quick fire carbs as we know so i found my afternoon runs easier - however i hate exercising in the afternoons and prefer to do it in the morning

ok well all that aside i had a week off exercise over christmas and did eat very off plan as we know - therefore i knew it would take my body a while to adjust back to using an alternative source for energy
i tried to run last week and it was disastrous - had no energy at all mind willing and knew i could but no petrol in the tank
fair enough i thought - body hasnt fully got back to normal yet - give it another week
which i have and tried to run again today but again really really struggled - just really nothing there but i have been able to do my classes quite well ....
anyway after reading tinkerbells IPD book im contemplating having a portion of porridge on the days i wish to run .......
they say in phase 2 that porridge can be eaten a couple of times a week i beleive
ive never done induction or phase 1 or anything like that and dont wish to start now - im not hardcore enough and realise things will just be slower for me which is fine
and yes again im not doing any particular plan - which goes against all the advice we give to ppl coming to this thread i know but i do eat pretty much like phase 2 in the IPD the majority of the time now - am sat here with my vodka soda and fresh lime juice as we speak ;)

so what do you think ? should i ? is this where you all say well if you took supplements youd be fine.......
    any constructive advice welcome :)

tinkerbell - i did enjoy the book but i think someone on here or maybe an amazon review said it was more like a personal diary of dieting that a proper diet book and to be honest i kind of read it like too
not to say i didnt enjoy it cos i did - maybe if i was new to low carbing it would have better value for me but def taking some things from it :)

brekkie and lunch today were my usual's
dinner will be sliced pork in a cream sauce with garlic mushrooms and leeks with salad

just having a few S&V peanuts to go with my vodka and will prolly have another one after - well it is friday night ;)

also just wondering what meat does everyone - apart from tinkerbell and badger lady i think - find themselves eating mostly ? we seem to be eating loads of pork at the min - dont mind cos we like it tho

sure i wanted to say something else but cant remember ......

oh remembered the other things.....TMI alert btw

have been having my fibresure regularly every morning sometimes twice a day but i am so bunged up since getting back on track !! really bugging me now - normally the fibresure keeps me nice and regular but not now and its not nice :(
prolly cos ive stopped my daily clementines ....

also was wondering can you freeze slices of lemon and lime ? if you spread them on a tray to freeze then popped them in a bag - thought they would be nice popped into a drink ?

maybe ill persevere with the running for another week and see if i get back on track first

Daisy, I can't help you regarding the exercise/energy/carb thing; I'm sure someone will come up with some sensible advice. However, I know from reading extensively about diabetes that the advice is often to have a small amount of carbohydrate before exercise. It's not as simple as that, of course, if you're a diabetic, but perhaps you need to sort out what works for you.

I agree with you about IPD. I think it's a fantastic read, really inspirational and so easy to follow, but their pseudo-science is a often a bit suspect. It sounded to me as though they repeated things they've read elsewhere, without understanding why. As I've said before too, they've pinched a lot of stuff from Rose Elliott and of course the whole thing is just a slightly looser version of Atkins. Good on them: it's a great book and I hope they've made lots of money!

Shykins, glad you're back online. What a clever hubby you have!

Daisy, I only 'ahem' about every other day now. Are you eating loads of veg? Perhaps try psyllium husk tablets?
