Plan on making the cauli pizza soon, I've got frozen cauli so just after a few hints and tips rom the experts. Should I grate the cauli before/after cooking and whats the best way to get all the water out?

We use fresh cauli, so not sure how watery the frozen cauli would be. We grate ours raw and then saute in butter. I think Ted whizzes his in food processor and then brief spell in micro without adding water?

i must say it's my preferred way of doing it - after a while it goes a lovely toasted colour in the pan and really looks like rice then, imo, and tastes fab too:) edited to say - plus that way you can add flavourings or spices to it

Thanks avstar xx I'm lucky I usually only get one or two bouts of lurgie a year - so can't complain really. A hot whisky or two should sort me out:D

Oh - hun, I meant to ask you the other day about your treadmill. I'm very similar to you in that respect - I work full-time too and whereas I used to have a relatively short journey to work and went to the gym every morning, I now have a total commuting time of apprx 3 hours a day so free time is at a premium and the gym just cannot be accomodated into it. But I too realised the thing I enjoyed most was running (seems hard to believe I took part in a 5k and 10k run the year before last:rolleyes:) - I think it did ease the depression too. But I'm not happy running outside on my own in the dark and so am thinking of investing in a treadmill. Just wanted to ask which one did you get and are you happy with it?

    thanks xx

Hmm a hot totty....errr hot toddy will sort you out LOL:rotfl:

I bought this treadmill from Argos,
    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3354571/Trail/searchtext>TREADMILL.htm
altho it was £300 about a year ago in a special offer - me and DD went halves on it.

It was DD who really wanted it as I've never enjoyed running, but now I realise I don't like running outside (dog poo/runny noses/cold/dark/slugs on the pavement!).
I love the treadmill tho! I've got a portable Tv in front of it and regularly do half an hour/45 mins when I get home from work while my evening meal is cooking. I just don't have time to go to the gym. The actual treadmill is great - it counts calories/miles etc, has plenty of space for a bottle of water & phone etc. Goes uphill, counts your heartbeat and had a decent sized running platform.

And thanks for the cauli tips I do think frozen has more water.

Badger_Lady to the naughty corner! I blame Mum

The parents came round last night and brought BEER and SUGARY-PASTRY-MARZIPAN-TART-THINGY with them! But it was yummy (I've got such a weakness for marzipan)

Well, Mum's joining us on low-carbing after the weekend so there'll be no more of THAT! :rotfl:

  • Shykins, where do you get a ricer from? Thinking grating the amount of cauli I need may get a little bit tedious........! :D

I bung uncooked cauli in the processor and just give it a few whizzes with the pulse button.
