    I know what you mean too! A couple of days before Christmas I decided I would come off low-carb until after the holiday. Not go mad, just eat what I wanted. I had the most delicious panini at our local Italian cafe, felt really good, and should have stopped there. Instead I then had Indian snacks that evening (samosas, bhajis, etc.), which were not very nice and were the most horrifying waste of carbs, fat and calories, and then loads of other muck. I felt bloody awful - bloated, podgy and stuffed. I changed my mind about breaking from low-carb the next morning. I think maybe one occasional meal of high-carb (good-quality stuff in a sensible portion) is fine - for me, anyway. But I really regretted eating the rubbish I ate that evening.

    Am having a sausage (gently cooked for an hour till it caramelises) and some bacon for lunch. Think I might feel better if I eat something.

    Lesley, I'm a sucker for the scales too. At least twice a day :o. Just can't help it!

    I'm an everyday weigher. I don't get stressed out about the daily variations as they are small and i know it all balances out in the end and increases are often only due to my monthly cycle (i didn't find out that this was a standard thing when i first spotted the pattern).

    I find it fascinating how weight fluctuates over the day (Mine goes down over the course of the morning then up after that, is that usual?)
    My name is Paula and I am a low carber :kiss: 1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg :kiss: (Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!:cry::cry:

    Hi needmoney and thanks for the headsup:) Please feel free to ask anything - not that i'll be able to answer it but one of the many knowledgeable folk on here will be able to:D

    Sx

    Thank you.
    I started reading Ted's thread about exercise last night and one link lead to another and another :D and I'm still reading and getting more confused by the minute.
    Lots of things make sense but then just who do you believe?!

    I'm only on page 12 of this thread but jumped to here when I found the paper link this morning as I say talk about coincidence.

    I'm tempted to not read the thread further and just jump to the diet but I can' resist reading :D also can't believe I missed it before.

    I also have to be careful because I have rheumatoid and OH is on a barrage of drugs for diabetes, recent heart attack etc. so it's more reading and judgement making for me.
    Glad to hear about all your weightlosses here though.

    :D not drivel at all, more reading for me then shopping might look for the new atkins one or something else on low carb diets.

    hi needmoney glad u found us, as saz says u can probably just skip to the diet and peruse our witterings over the next few days lol....just decide which plan u are going to do and one or other of us can give u the correct pointers

    hc glad to hear u are feeling a bit better, i am sure eating something helps but sometimes its not always that easy, maybe some soup?

    i agree with everyone else i have carbed out over chrimbo and new year and actually felt a sense of relief hitting induction yesterday.. which brings me to why the hell do we do it if we know we arent even going to enjoy it... aaah well theres no doubt some pscyho babble reason lol

    i actually havent weighed myself for some time cos i got to the point where the scale was dictating if i had a good day or not and i just couldnt get my head round it and was thinking oh s*d it i wont eat if the scales say i have gone up... bad i know hence not weighing!!! so instead as longas i can wear my tight jeans with a fitted top and not have a muffin i am happy :)
