Tink, that mousse sounds fab. I used to do something similar for my girls when they were small - top up the jelly water with milk. I shall definitely try the whisked version with cream.
I seem to have developed a bit of a lurgy. As a result, I ate nothing at all yesterday. I feel a little more human today, but still not sure if/what I'll eat. Trying to drink water, but even that's a trial.
At least the kids are back at school. Looking forward to getting the house organised again after the chaos of Christmas.
Have a good day, everyone.0 -
Shykins, I have just eaten the wrap that I froze yesterday and it was fine:j .I had wrapped it in grease proof paper.
That will make life easier now. Also, it only took half an hour to defrost:DIf you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

Must not weigh......must not weigh.....
One of my biggest downfalls is becoming scale obsessed. I know not to do it but it's like a moth to a flame. I've been dieting for a day for crying out loud.
I think I need therapy. :rotfl:
I bought some venison sausages yesterday to try as a change but I had one last night and I dont like them much. They are too expensive to just chuck out though so I'll need to slather them in mayo or something and have them for breakkie.
Hope you all have a good day!Herman - MP for all!0 -
Hi peeps :hello:
That's reminded me - my mum used to do the same jelly and milk thing for me:) Gawd it's cold innit? I'm sat at my desk huddled around a coffee, not feeling very awake.
Breakfast this morning was the usual sausage and flax bread combo. Shykins I'm glad the flax bread is induction friendly coz I do like it. But I must give the nutbread and wraps a whirl at some stage too:D Lunch is a repeat of yesterday's salad with cheese and beef combo. Tuesday nights I'm usually home quite late and don't often feel like eating a full meal - so may have a pick at the remaining roast pork, will see how I feel.
At the weekend I'm going to do a beef brisket in the slow cooker and that will do us for lunches next week.
HC sorry to hear you're feeling poorly hun - maybe sip some warm water with a slice of lemon?
I better get on.
Much love to all and keep warm today:)

Morning everyone day 2 has dawned and its still faming freezing here!
Like everything else on here I have an opinion on it but todays opinion has to be about weighing cos I know a lot of you only weigh once a week and find that that works for you but for me I have to weigh every day.Its part of my routine and if I have fluctuations that cant be explained by sneaky carbs that have somehow magically arrived in my gob the I know its down to water retention and then up my fluid intake accordingly. So for me daily weighing works but I can understand people becoming obsessed by it I guess its just like all things when your dieting if it works for you then do it
Phew quite a rant for 9.53:rotfl:
Yesterday went reasonably well with grilled bacon, sausages and poached eggs for brekkie then it went slightly off track with the two mince pies:oBut I only had a chunk of cheese for my tea as penance.I got on the scales this morning and have lost one of the pounds I put on over Christmas so just one more to go and I'm back to prechristmas weight and can get on with losing the podge I still have left to lose
I wont be eating till lunchtime and I reckon a small tin of mackerel with chopped tomato and mayonnaise will do it.I hate the stuff but need the omega 3's and I'm not taking supplements
After being a good girl with lunch it'll be the remains of the lamb roast with cabbage and swede for tea

Well my "not too naughty" Christmas week turned into a carb-fest over New Year so we've decided to take a 2 week holiday from low carbing, eat the stuff that we love but can't usually have and go back to a low-carb woe next week.
Although i am LOVING Warburton's raisin bread, mashed potato and fajitas etc it is really noticeable that the carbs just don't fill you up and make you feel like you have eaten anything, in the same way that our normal low-carb meals do AND carbs taste so darn nice that the toaster is always calling me to pop in a couple of slices in .......
The scales are reflecting the impact of the Cadburys-Dairy-Milk-athon too so i'm going to have to go in for some serious portion control until i go back the low-carb life. I'm actually quite looking forward to it, which is not necessarily the reaction i was expecting! My name is Paula and I am a low carber1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg
(Atkins/IPD) 24/1/13 - 69kg! Yikes!

Hi needmoney and thanks for the headsup:) Please feel free to ask anything - not that i'll be able to answer it but one of the many knowledgeable folk on here will be able to:D
paula - I know exactly what you mean - when I had some of the carby things i was craving over christmas, you're so right - it didnt feel like I was eating "proper" foodI guess that's because it isn't lol! And that was a good thing, as you say, because it made me actually want to get back to 'clean' eating again.
