Also, I have had a bit of constipation, any suggestions for this??:o
OMG, I relaxed the diet (well, just eat whatever I fancied) for 6 days and have gained 9lb:eek:
Is this normal/possible. Will this just be water and will it come off quickly if I do the induction again
With regard to constipation, I have had no problems over the last couple of days:rolleyes:
I hope everyone has had a fab Christmas and haven't gained as much weight as me:oIf you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.

I'm sure newsih2this you will find most of that drops off as within a few days of getting back on it. especially if you have been drinking whihc dehydrates you meaning you hang on to every drop of fluid your body can muster.
i weighed myself this morning and have put on about a pound, but the four of us have had a very quiet time so far ( we have no family to entertain) . the meals with friends start today though and continue for the next week so it can only get worse!

A bit late with this I think but, yes, calcium should help with the cramps (leg cramps esp over night by any chance?) BUT you have to take calcium with magnesium as calcium alone will bung you up - the magnesium is the anticonstipator to counteract the calcium.
My thought on the calorie counting is that once you start low carbing and "mindful eating" the calories look after themselves as your own body signals let you know when you have eaten enough and therefore had the right amount of calories.
Hope everyone is having a good christmas. I'm being low-carbish. Not strictly low carb - partly because i'm at my in-laws and don't want to be total pains in the !!!!!! and partly because we're treating ourselves to a little bit of stuff we would never normally have in the house- jamie's turkey and leek pie WITH the puff pastry rather than without, a hairy bakers mince pie with a mug of mulled wine, and a roast potato with an otherwise perfect low carb Christmas meal etc. We've been low carb for 6 months and close-ish to our goal weights now so we eat a lot more carbs than you poor people still on phase one/induction but flour/sugar etc is usually totally off limits.
I did have weetabix this morning though - i horrified my MIL by having full fat milk and a huge splosh of double cream with it. (25g carbs in 2 biscuits!!)
MIL is a total low-fat-is-king/butter-on-your-cabbage-is-evil stalwart, but since I've lost 3 stone and my other half has lost 3 1/2 stone she is merely pursing her lips rather than saying anything. MIL is still offering us biscuits and cake at every meal and not serving enough veg though.....
And although I take full responsibility for choosing to eat the weetabix I blame her for putting them within my reach - i mentioned when we arrived that I really fancied weetabix but of course couldn't have them and she went out on Chritmas eve and bought me a box - kind thought but not helpful! (and has commented everyday since that I hadn't opened them).
I'm just about managing to avoid going back over 10 stone (10 stone 0lb this morning so definitely no more treating myself from now on). My scales at home are in Kg so it's quite weird seeing my weight in stones and pounds. It makes me feel fatter actually)
I'm off now. We 're cooking oven roasted broccoli and pork chops with cream and mustard for tea tonight so no low-carb problems there (as long as i resist the chocolate cheescake).
Thanks to you all for your help, encouragement and support this year. I'm more of a lurker than a poster but I would have found it all so much harder if you hadn't all been here with your tales of woe and the sharing of your successes.
Special thanks for Ted for doing all of the detailed research for me - Cracking job mate, keep up the hard work!My name is Paula and I am a low carber1/6/08-83kg : 1/5/10-57kg

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm still not back on it yet as working nights tonight and I know there will be a lot of junk available and I forever pick on nights:rolleyes:. I'm going to get back on the induction plan on Monday. I'm just amazed at how much and how quickly the weight went on:mad:If you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.
