Low Carb Diet (atkins)
Comments

Happy Christmas everyone:beer:
I have stuck to the Atkins induction plan for 2 weeks, and although I didn't expect to loose any thing, I lost 3lb:j
What I didn't tell everyone before I started atkins was that I had lost nearly 4 stone on the lipotrim regimme (food supplement diet via the pharmacy). I had gained this weight after giving up smoking a year last March. Anyway, having reached my "pre giving up smoking weight" (BMI now 24;) ), I thought Atkins would be the most appropriate food as lipotrim was based on ketosis. Anyway, I have eat well, stuck to the rules, stayed away from the scales and then stood on them last Thursday to find I had lost the 3lb, making me lighter than I have been for many years:D .
Thanks for all you advise everyone!!
I'm going to ease up over Christmas now (I really don't want to lose any more weight) but like everyone else, I will be reading this thread;)
Ted, got to say, I love your posts. I have been getting terrible cramps and I think I read that calcium was best for this??
Also, I have had a bit of constipation, any suggestions for this??:oIf you think nobody cares whether you're alive or dead, try missing a couple of mortgage payments.
My way is Atkins

I take 2 psyllium husks per day which does the trick for me

one aloe vera capsule each morning with a large glass of water is my method of choice...
as i think i mentioned before I have always been a bit prone to IBS with probably one attack a week and quite often constipation in between but since starting low carbing at beginning of november I have not had a single attack!
all hail the mighty power of low carbing! have actually decided now to be really strict with myself for next two days to limit the damage over xmas.

Oo - well I've been here at my parents' house for five days now and all we seem to do is eat! I still pick out the lower-carb elements, and last night cooked for them. But I have had granola and yoghurt every morning, and about three mince pies in the last week :eek:Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
