I think you can expect approx 2lbs a week if you stick to it
It's nice because you don't go hungry as such.. sometimes it can feel a little tiresome, but it's quite enjoyable aswell
This is the diet i'm following - http://blogg.passagen.se/dahlqvistannika/?anchor=my_lowcarb_dietary_programe_in
Others on the thread are doing Atkins - http://messageboards.ivillage.co.uk/iv-ukdfatkins...
& Also Idiot Proof Diet - http://www.pig2twig.co.uk/
All very similar, low carb, high protein. Makes compelling reading aswell
Good Luck, let us know which you decide to follow
Hey guys!
Changed my post to include the better Atkins link
Hope everyone is doing well today?

lol sazbo, u can also do them with pepperami if u nuke it long enough to make it crisp... i HAVE to have crisps somehow and the cheese ones satisfy me lol, i havent tried flavouring them but assume it would work, oh and dont forget u can have pork scratchings, but they are very salty unless u get good ones (some butchers sell them btw)
yaay i have an oven again, will be able to make oopsies monday (ttoo lazy too at moment and out tomorrow)... got a nice piece of rib eye steak for tea with mushrooms and poss salad droooolllll
thanks GG for the link, atkins nutritionals just dont reflect atkins anymore which is a shame
so glad they havent merged this thread with the dieting one like they did before when we had some atkins people

Fried parsnips are gorgeous!BSC Member 155

in atkins no cos they are too high in carb.. i used to love parsnips but now find them really sweet
swede or turnip are ok.. or fried radish is scrummy (try the mooli one)

I also love Indian usually a madras or Jalfrezi. Im not that keen on rice so Im guessing this is not to high carb. I think after a few days I have lost a bitWho I am is not important. What I do is.0

it sort of depends on whats ion the curry so its a bit hard to say yes or no,...
i went for the occasional indian when i was losing, mind u i tend to have tandoori chicken with salad

Good [strike]morning[/strike] afternoon everyone:D
Well, I'm sat here with a toasted slice of my homemade flax bread topped with some ham and cheese:) - enjoying it, and also enjoying a rare, dust-free moment of peace and quiet without the builders lol
Must get on and make that coleslaw later today:)
Just wanted to ask the long-term lo-carbers here - did/do you find it useful to have a carb counting book to refer to? Y'know, one that lists the carb content of foods? Or did you find it wasn't necessary?
Have a good day everyone!
Love,
Sazzy xx
Hey....
In answer to your question, NO! Ive never bought a book like that! If Im honest, I didnt really do Atkins 'by the book' so to speak, cause i hated the idea of not eating fruit and veg....
So, what I did (and still do..) was:
Say I was cooking spag bol for dinner for the family... Id just have the 'bol' and not the 'spag'!
Same with chilli, and curry etc...
I eat what everyone else is eating, but without rice, or chips, or spuds... I just have a big green salad with it...
Although its not completely Atkins, it uses the same principles, and means i dont have to make seperate meals for the rest of the household....You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....
*I have done reading too*
*I have done geography as well*0 -

Thanks vik, that's very interesting. I guess we get so brainwashed over the years into thinking that diets have to be complicated and/or hard and/or expensive (I guess the diet industry has a vested interest in our thinking that) - when in fact what this proves is that it doesn't have to be any of those things.
It's really inspiring:)
