Low Carb Diet (atkins)

My query is would Atkins diet help to lower my Triglycerides level (that's the one that concerns me).
See also Dr Davis's blogs on Fish Oil
You may want to SUPPLEMENT your concentrated fish oil with some KRILL oil capsules as well after reading This paperEvaluation of the Effects of Neptune Krill Oil on the Clinical Course of Hyperlipidemia, however as this is almost certainly a paper sponsored by Neptune Krill Oil company their results do need to be replicated. But the word on the forums is that Tryglyceride numbers do drop with krill oil. I take 2 krill oil daily along with 1.5g omega 3 (that is the sum of the EPA + DHA numbers not 3 x 500mg capsules.) I get my KRILL from IHERB but they are now a bit cheaper in the UK if you shop around.
I don't suppose I have to remind anyone here that people with higher vitamin D status have lower triglycerides and vis versa. Madrid is on the same latitude as Ohio and we know from Heaney's research that outdoor workers in Ohio average over the year a total 2800iu/D3 daily from all sources including sunshine. Our milk/cereals aren't fortified so that source is missing. While Madrid gets more sun than Manchester and more days when UVB is present in sunshine this won't make any difference while you wear clothes and while you apply sunscreen/cosmetics. This calculator will help you work out how long you need to lay in the sun daily. to convert the cholesterol in your skin into Vitamin D3 and thus reduce your cholesterol levels as Cholesterol levels vary with season, latitude and altitude.
PS Heaney has also shown the body uses 3000-5000iu daily so you can see why we are all suffering from Vit d insufficiency. 70nmol/l (peak summer level) represents a total daily intake of less than 3000iu and 35nmol/l (end of winter average) represents less than 1,500iu/d

Feeding the masses on cheap carby food has always been a political matter.
Like the Irish potato famine, they were encouraged to move to Canada to grow wheat.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)
Put on some lipstick
and pull yourself together”

Just read James Dowd's blog, loved this quote .''Remember the “Yellowstone Park Rule of Thumb.” Wild animals do not eat dairy but from their mother’s breast as a yearling. Wild animals do not eat grain or legumes. Wild animals exercise every day. And, wild animals do not get high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease.''
Have done my Vit D calc and I need to get sunshine for 35 mins a day, very easyily done here on the coast of Spain0 -

Hello. For about three weeks I've been following Dr Dahlqvist's lo-carb program, as mentioned by Ted H. So far found it quite easy to stick to
Just wanted to say, out of curiosity yesterday (and because i had some flax meal to use up in the fridge!), I tried making this recipe for lo-carb flax bread and i was really impressed by a) how easy it was to make - 2.5 mins in the microwave! and b) how bread-like it was, considering there is no flour or yeast in it.
I used 8 tbls of flax meal and one egg instead of two, because I prefer it slightly less 'eggy' plus a little water instead of the second egg. And I used a spoon of rapeseed oil because I had run out of butter. But it seems to be quite adaptable - you could add a little grated parmesan, perhaps, or some herbs or spices that you like...
Enjoy!
Must give the cauli pizza a go...
