HC - nice to hear from you - I thought you were probably busy. Good luck with the open days - sounds like dd has got quite a few decent institutions to choose from there, with or without a puff of white smoke from the Big O :T

Hope so - she has MPhys offers from Bath, Warwick and Sussex. But she's really after the Big O, Imperial, or Sussex with a research placement. There's so much competition these days, with so many getting such high grades. Still, we shall see. I don't envy her - the suspense and anticipation for prospective undergrads must be awful (and for me too)! And I've got to do it all over again very soon when DD/Twin 2 eventually gets her personal statement finalised. I'm going to have no nails left!

Just had sausages and bacon, and feel utterly stuffed. :D I'm working my way through the IPD cookbook, so tonight it's aubergine, spinach and feta pie. Did the Spanish chicken the other night - lovely.

You've made me roar with laughter, Saz. Just what I need on this dismal afternoon. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

It's turning into Frisky Friday, with all this talk of chastisement and the Big O. ;)

Well, haven't heard from my big interview yet and I think the recruitment consultant has gone home (just got her answerphone) so will have to wait over the weekend.

Work have redeployed me to the most ridiculous job you can imagine - not only is it a demotion that makes no use of my skills, it also requires skills I don't have and holds absolutely no interest for me - nothing to do with my career path and so extremely dull that I would never in a million years apply for it . Gimme a redundancy payout, you stingy gits!!!

And my hairdresser has just phoned to cancel tomorrow's appointment - she hasn't got time to do it until after Christmas now :(

I feel like I'm turning into a right whinger!!!

I've been on the wine this evening, so please ignore me if I ramble/am incoherent.

The aubergine, spinach and feta pie from the IPD cookbook was really good, despite my fear that it would just turn out like a cold souffle, like so many of their egg-based recipes.

Am so full of pie and wine that I can't eat the strawberries (in November, Dutch, crazy price, shameful carbon footprint) I bought to have with cream as a treat tonight.

Badger_Lady, when I'm down a hairdresser cancelling can reduce me to tears. You're holding up so well, considering your recent bad luck. Find another hairdresser and make yourself feel gorgeous. I had mine done the other day and, combined with my loss of weight, it made me feel so fantastic. If you can't, have a manicure, or treat yourself some other way.

Skykins, you're full of support and kind words, as usual.

Saz, I nearly bought some of those M&S burgers - they looked gorgeous but the Costco ones are even lower in carb, I think (and probably cheaper - I'm a huge Costco fan).

Shykins it was definitely roast beef salad:A

Well it was weigh in this morning and I lost *drum roll* 2lbs!!!!!!!!

I celebrated with 1/2 a HM teacake toasted and buttered and before you all start chastising me I will be punished later as my body cant tolerate wheat and I get bad stomach aches. But I just couldnt resist and after the stomach ache I suffer with today it'll be months before I do it again so dont worry its only a mometary blip but boy did it taste good:o

I've got a curry for tea tonight with cauli rice

Badgerlady I hate this time of year because for some reason loads of horrid things happen to nice people. But remember to have a good dust on New Years Eve and that should remove the bad luck of this year
