Party tonight! To commemorate Calzaghe's final fight, we've set up a big-screen telly (borrowed) and a Wii with boxing games on it in the basement... we've also got a proper dancefloor down there with a Mac DJ set... there'll be beer, cider, wine, spirits, potato wedges and jam tarts (hello Jammy!)!

I'm going to have a couple of poached eggs with black pepper and then stick to vodka and tapwater... well, I'll let you know how that went tomorrow :)

Saz, I really did only have water in the end! :A But I developed a major craving for chocolate (Galaxy Cookie Crumble for preference) that was hard to overcome. :( But I made it. Have been positively saintly this week - just one generous glass of wine on Tuesday. :o

Nine and a half stone - why, you're just a slip of a girl! Seriously, no wonder it's been slow and hard if you had only a stone or so to lose. Well done for getting there! Do you need to lose more?

Same dinner for me as last night - lamb chops, garlic mushrooms and blue cheesy leeks. And water, bloody water!

Hope you're having fun tonight, Badger Lady. Your post was completely Greek to me until I caught a flash of a TV trailer about the fight.

As well as a poorly cat, I have a doggy in heat. It's like a canine orgy here. I've had to get little Lucy a pair of doggy knickers to stop the boys ravishing her. She's not impressed, but they seem to do the trick. ;) They're all so throroughly overexcited that Pippa (who is not in heat) is flirting outrageously and prettily offering her bottom to the boys, who are not interested of course. Thank goodness it doesn't last long. They're driving me mad.

Am now on my second day of trying to get back to low carbing. It has taken me weeks to get my head straight.

  • Mixed meals of lower Glycemic Index are associated with lower day-long concentrations of glucose and insulin, and higher CCK after breakfast, morning tea and lunch. This metabolic profile could mediate differences in satiety and hunger.

CCK mediates a number of physiological processes, including digestion and satiety.

More evidence to show why those using a low carb diet feel less hunger and regain better control over insulin resistance and glucose metabolism.

Ted, your link is a US one. Do you buy your D3 from America? Why don't the UK sites (Healthspan etc.) sell them?

I found some 1000iu tablets at this place: http://www.supplementking.co.uk
I've been taking two of those a day having read Ted's advice and will probably go higher gradually - I already take so many pills I rattle!

Ted you really are a mine of useful information and reading your post made me realise I should be taking these with food rather than twice a day with all the other pills. Thanks for all the very informative posts and articles. Actually thanks to everyone for the information and amusement - I do read just rarely post.

I had lost almost two stone and was at a pretty acceptable 9st 10 (having lost almost two stone over about 18 months) but a few pounds have crept back on so I shall be paying far more attention and may even post a little more often!

You may not have noticed Shokadelika has posted a link to this sources of Vitamin D drops http://www.thevitaminservice.com/pro...asp?id=1009173 That is cheaper than the source I usually use.

My assumption is that vitamin D3 can't be sold here at those doses... but I could be wrong about that hun.

Aww thanks HC, thing is, I'm only about 5 ft tall, so 9 and a half stone is a lot for me:o I think if i could get down to 9 I'd be happy with that. Anymore than that probably isnt realistic for someone of a) my age and b) my fondness for vino:o :rotfl:

And I have a confession to make:o Gilly and I succumbed to buying ourselves iPhones yesterday.... no, that's not the confession lol.... afterwards we treated ourselves to a dark cherry mocha in starbucks... ahem....:o.... with cream on top....ahem...:o BUT, in our defence... we ordered tall and not grande.... and we had been really good all week.... ok, i'll quit while I'm not ahead:D

Gawd, it's p--ing it down here in London. Really miserable. Just want to be home:rolleyes:

Have a good day everyone

Sazbo, I'm the pretty much the same height as you (5' 1") and want to get down to 9-9.5 stone too. (I'm a little more than that at the moment! :o) I was 7st 4lb when I got married 19 years ago but I'm not aiming for anything like that now.

Went to Zizzi last night with OH, with the 2 for 1 deal. It's just opened in our town, and I don't think we'll bother again. Why oh why do they think we need yet another Italian place??? Very boring menu for low-carbers too. I had chicken in a red wine and mushroom sauce, with green beans. I swapped the potatoes for 'crispy courgettes' which arrived battered. The wine was nice though. :D

Pouring with rain in deepest Berkshire too. I work from home, and am sorely tempted to curl up on the sofa with lots of dogs draped over me and watch something mindless on TV.
