My glass appears to have refilled itself. :D However white wine has no carbs, I think? And I know that the body burns alcohol before carbs (and then fat) but I've had only 12g of carb today.

Although my weigh-day is tomorrow, I did weigh myself this morning and was 2lb down. It'll be interesting to see what the scales say tomorrow as a result of my filthy two-glass binge. (Nearer three, I admit, since my measures are quite large. :o)

Thank you, Shykins, for being the voice of reason. I know I'm being naughty but at least I've accepted that there's going to be no Galaxy Cookie Crumble on the horizon. And I'm drinking loads of water! :)

    :naughty:

Wine is water and alcohol (effectively) and has next to no carbs.

HOWEVER, alcohol makes your blood sugar bounce around all over the place, which then leads to cravings for sweet things.

As the point of a low carb diet is to keep your blood sugar level to reduce cravings for sugar, wine is not a good choice of beverage!!!

There was an article in the Telegraph today, reporting on a 72 year-old chap who has basically been on the Atkin's for 46 years.

He is very sceptical of the reasoning behind the setting of safe cholesterol levels and is particularly anti - wheat flour (it's full of rat poo!).

    You're so right, Daisy.

(And it's got to be better than a bar of Galaxy Cookie Crumble. I'm sure the carb gods agree.)

Well, it was nice at the time - but not quite so nice this morning. _pale_

But I've just weighed - and I've now lost a total of 16 lb :)

I'll be extra good this week to make up for my wicked lapse.

Barry Groves is one of my favourites. His Second Opinions Website is here

You can also listen to Barry Groves here on Jimmy Moore

While your at the Jimmy Moore site also have a listen to this one.
Dr. Steven Gundry And His ‘Diet Evolution’: Part 1 (Episode 179) Part 2 of this Steven Gundry talk explains the hormone process that's involved in stalling. It's really worth understanding that this is a natural process and know you just have to keep going on doing what you know to be right. Also interesting to what he has to say about Exercise.

My weight is on the move again (downwards, thankfully!) after eleven days of IF. It's dead easy now - no hunger pangs or related worries. In fact, over the weekend I was going out and decided that I was allowed to eat on a fasting day, to keep my strength up. During that 24 hour stretch I treated myself to... 1 whole boiled egg!

Today, for the first time in 7 years, I'm wearing a size 10 wool skirt
