well had an interesting (??!!) weekend .. spent most of yesterday in casualty, the pain in my side got much worse and ended up having all sorts of tests, have to say theywere very thorough.. i now have to go see a urologist for further tests.... i tell u they would shoot me if i was a horse lol

so whats everyone else been up to this weekend?

    - well, me and Mr Badger were at a gig last - the excellent Porcupine Tree. But there was engineering work affecting the London underground:rolleyes: so we didn't get home until 1.30am and then up again for work at 6.30am.... so we're feeling a bit knackered to put it mildly! But the band were fantastic - it was a late birthday present to me from Gilly - and I wouldn't have missed it for anything.

shykins hun - good luck with the tests xx

Oh and Julian Graves have a sale on including crushed almonds and Flax is £1.99 for 500g for anyone who wants to try out less quantities to start with.

This morning I bought a 500g bag of flax seeds in Holland & Barrett advertised on offer at £1.09, although looking at the receipt just now, it says I was charged 99p! Bargain! :money:

Gilly well done on the weight loss:T .If you've lost 4lbs how much has Sazzy lost?

    Lesleyxx

    - I thought Ted's last link: How to lose weight was very interesting and might explain why I am struggling to lose any more weight. I am honestly not trying to make excuses for myself, but it's difficult to see what else I can cut out. I started on Dr D's plan, but then stalled for weeks, so I switched to doing Atkins with Mr badger. Since last week, as he says, we cut out all dairy to try and speed things up, and like suemagoo we are now having (unsweetened) soy milk - which doesn't exactly fill me with joy lol, but I struggle to have tea and coffee black and it's the lowest carb option I can find:rolleyes: And still the weight doesn't come of... So, I dunno, maybe hormones are an issue? It's not the end of the world, because as I've said on here before, weightloss isn't my primary motivation for wanting to eat a low-carb diet, but that said it would be nice to lose a bit more as an added bonus...

Anyway, enough of my ramblings lol:o

Have a great day everyone!

    Much love to all,
    Sazzy xxxxxxxxxxx

sue they think it might be a kidney stone hence the referral to a urologist, so unless i get more pain or a temp i should be ok, just take painkillers etc... the GP kept telling me it was a water infection but i just knew it wasnt, then it got more painful hence the visit to A&E

saz sometimes u have to up your fat to lose, everyone is so different in the affect things have on u, i cant eat nuts other people eat them fine, some people cant eat dairy etc etc, my personal advice would be to stick to 2 weeks of PROPER atkins induction with no variations and see what happens, then add things slowly to see what happens.....also bear in mind if u are exercising more u could be losing inches whilst not losing pounds

thanks hun xx gilly also reckons that i need to eat more fat:o so maybe I should work on that. we have been doing induction since last week plus no dairy, so we'll see how it goes this week. exercise is not a factor sadly lol, i used to go diligently every morning monday to friday and it seems hard to believe that last year I took part in a 5K and a 10K run:o - but it's so much harder to fit into my weekly routine nowadays with long, hectic days at work and then a longer commute.

I hope you don't get anymore uncomfortable with the suspected kidney stone xx if it's any consolation to you I have my first dental appointment in a year on friday and goodness only knows what they'll need to do to my teeth!

lol mea culpa, fair enough:D but we've only been eating half of one each - so only 1.5 grms carbs? but could cut that out too. i'm actually struggling to think how I can eat more fat, given that we've now cut cheese out... ?

heehee trouble with me is I have dodgy gums and so really need them deep cleaned every 6 months minimum - but it's so bloomin painful:o

Hi HC:) We have a fair bit streaky bacon and yes it is yummy - I love it! I've tried to be a bit more organised and follow tink's tip for cooking a batch of stuff to eat cold. So yesterday I cooked a batch of sausages to supplement our quick workday breakfasts. But maybe I could do the same with bacon to snack on and it would be more MSE than buying the packs of ready-made crispy bacon strips which I love too:o

I'm not really an egg eater unless they are disguised in something, if you see what I mean. But saying that, maybe I can have a go at the crustless quiche recipe that was posted on here.

    Thanks for the ideas:)

Oh Sazzy you sound so fed up and thats just not like you

I know from reading your posts in the past you arent very overweight so as you say you want to low carb for health benefits so stop beating yourself up about the lack of weight loss and when your induction period is over try adding a few extra foods and see what happens

Shykins are they going to zap it or let it pass through the body naturally?

I know 4lbs is a lot to lose in one week but it was that time of the month so most of it will have been fluid retention

I'm not going to post my weekly weigh in results any more as I feel it can have a negative effect on those of us who arent losing or even worse putting on.I will update my sig though but thats just for personal reasons

Lesley hun thanks so much for the kind words but please continue to post your great results - speaking for myself I find it really motivating to see how well you're doing! :T You give me encouragement:) It's probably pending TOTM month making me feel a bit down just now, that combined with the fact that it's monday morning:rolleyes::D But gonna make myself a delicious cup of tea and soy milk in a minute to cheer me up:rolleyes: :rotfl:
