I do cabbage carbonara too ;)

Shred some cabbage and steam. Make sauce with egg yolk, double cream, grated parmesan. Fry a little quorn bacon and toss together.

    Yummy, and VERY filling ;)

gone on to Soya milk now. Bought the Asda one which tastes of - nothing really. Can you make custard etc with Soya milk?

Also had a big problem finding flaxseed and crushed almonds today in all our local supermarkets so off to the health shop to buy smaller quantities to try the oopsies tomorrow.

oopsies are made with cream cheese and eggs

ground almonds are usually in the baking aisle, or you can buy whole ones and food process them to make them ground.

Oh yes just checked the oopsies recipe. I'm mixed up with the low carb bread which Im going to have a go at too.

Got some golden linseed which I just haven't seen before. It seems very tiny seeds so do I need to grind it more as it say partially cracked/ground or something? I'm assuming if you grind it it looks a bit like wholemeal flour?

I'm going to put some on OH salad as he says he's got a bit of constipation lol

I thought linseed/flax made constipation worse?

You might be better off with psyllium husks.

    Are you taking any supplements?

Psyllium husks are part of the reason why I don't have any trouble drinking at least two litres of water a day. The warning in BIG LETTERS about the risk of them blocking your throat or oesophagus if they don't go down properly scare me silly, so I swill them down with the best part of a litre.

Now some help, please, if possible!

I might treat the family to roast lamb today. Of course, I will forgo the potatoes, parsnips, carrots, Yorkshire puddings (we have these with all roasts, as everyone - including me  - loves 'em), etc., and have cauli mash and green veg instead.

But is there any way I can get around the onion sauce problem? I make it the usual way - onions, butter, flour, milk, dash of cream, nutmeg. Flour and milk are verboten but I'm not sure that onions in butter and cream will cut the mustard.

Does anyone know a way of making onion sauce taste like onion sauce without flour or milk?

    Here's hoping!

One problem we have is that OH is used to taking a sandwich to work, but has been taking a salad all this week. (hes lost 4lb). There's nowhere to heat food in the short lunch they have so what alternatives are there for him.

I read somewhere that you can eat totillas? Surely that isnt right as arent they full of carbs arent they?
