Low Carb Diet (atkins)

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before - i've ploughed through quite a few pages to have a look but i do have to get some work done today;)
When counting carbs do you look at the total grammes or the amount that "sugars"?
On alot of things the two amounts are fairly similar but on some there's a huge difference between the two figures and i don't want to blow my diet but on the other hand i don't want to miss out on anything either!
Thanks very much0 -
Hi everyone :hello:
It's fridaaaaaay! YAY!!! :j  Dunno about you lot but I'm so pleased about that!:D
Really looking forward to doing very little over the weekend... although I say that, the builder tells me he has now finished all the work, so if that's true I should be tidying and cleaning up at my flat at least part of tomorrow. But then again, he's been telling me he's almost finished for the last three weeks!:rotfl: So we shall see...
Have salad with me for lunch with some cheese and salami. Tonight we're having some chicken, mushroom, leek and cream affair.... mmm can't wait!
suemagoo - I think generally fruit is a no-no - it's too high in carbs. Dr D's plan allows a small amount of fruit. I think on Atkins, after the induction phase, berries are allowed? But I'm not 100% sure about that. Best check rules of plan you are doing x
Have a good day everyone
Much love,

Pauli I think you need to be looking at the total amount of carbs... but best wait for someone who knows what they're talking about to tell you for sure

You use the total carbs figures - you ideally don't want anything with more than 4g carbs per 100g.
net carbs is total carbs minus fibre, but if you use the total carb figure as it is, you won't go far wrong0 -

So does that mean there is a house warming party this weekend and we are all invited to trash the joint?:rotfl:

lol, actually thinking about it, it would probably take half the time to clear up if you lot trashed the place than it did for the builders to do the work! :rotfl: *inserts rolling on floor laughing smiley here* (smilies still not working for me, grrr!)
gawd, my afternoon's dragged so much... I just wanna be home :-/
Anyone got anything nice planned for this evening? It's been a really knackering week... think I'm just gonna flop in front of telly and cuddle mr badger :-)
