:T Hello tinkerbell thanks for your reply ,I think i ran the food proccesor for to long with almond flour ,i have been at atkins /idiot proof diet for 4 weeks now have lost about 8 pounds i was on a low calorie diet before and needed a kick start allways go back to atkins lost weight on it years ago ,then saw on this forum about ipd ,book is good and has spured me on .Have tried crackerbread 3 grams each .Find breakfast hard .Does any one have trouble sleeping on low carb diets maybe ted could explain this one for me i dream far more and wake in the night .:j

it takes seconds to combine the almonds and butter - you want them just combined.

i've managed without any type of cracker - it's a waste of carbs to me. could you have pate on celery sticks and cheese on oopsies? they're a brilliant bread substitute and less than 1g carbs each ;)
  • must try harder with the crushed almond pastry ,Have found lowest crispbreads are crackerbread at 3carbs each went to health food shop and even low carb crackers swedish ones are 3 carbs
  • hello tinkerbell can you remind me how to make opsies will have a go tomorow ,sounds like your awake late as well
  • i'm waiting for my OH to get out of the bath so I can have a shower!

separate 3 large free range eggs
add 3oz full fat cream cheese to the yolks

whip the whites until 'dry' and stiff
beat the yolks and cream cheese together until smooth
    fold whites into yolks

dollop onto baking trays lined with greaseproof (I get 8-9 per batch) and bake at 170oC for about 30 minutes.

allow to cool and keep uncovered. :D

OH has finally appeared, so I'm off for my shower. Goodnight - see you soon

    hi eveyrone

GG bran crackers are i think 2.5g carb each,, i did a post a few pages back with a cracker recipe and there are almond thins, i use celery for pate for a crunch altho sometimes i do make the crackers... i have also found some sorta rice cakes type things that come from aldi, they are made by trimlyne and are called something like summer sensation flavour (also do caramel)... they arent easy to come by but are approx 1carb each

it might be easier to rub the butter into the almond flour than blitz it as that could make the oils come out of the flour

EEEK daisy scary isnt it after holidays but dont worry u will get back to where u want to be.. people often say to me i dont eat much but i snack a lot too

ted found that very interesting about the number of generations and no doubt 3 or 4 generations has been the worst for obesity?

as a word of caution for the newbies please try and read the older version of the atkins not the new stuff in the daily mail with bread or that on atkins nurtritional urging u to use all the bars etc

birdie hope the weigh in isnt too bad today, trust u had a good time on holiday

ravy u should be very pleased with 2lbs a week especially when u confessed to a huge piece of cake lol

well done everyone else.... do we have to start a new thread now?

Anyone lookng for an older edition of Atkins ask at a charity shop.

They may not be out on the shelves but they might have several in the back if you ask.

Have found that carbs are slowly creeping back - had three crackers just now with pate - so need to start making oopsies or almond thins and get back on track.

Have just had some low carb sausage and really enjoyed them.

I find that I am not hungry when I want a cracker but "My teeth are bored!";)
